This playroom started as a toddler space years ago, with a pretend kitchen and dress-up clothes 🥹 Now my 6 & 9 year old use it to draw, build and read together. So many sweet memories in this space.

🎨 Experiment PDX Hands-On Art & Science Museum

🎟️ $10/person (adults pay admission)

is a hands-on science museum for kids, families and adults. They encourage playful learning through STEM activities like marble runs, electrical circuits and lego robotics. There are microscopes to explore microorganisms and live creatures to visit (say 👋 to the bearded dragon!)

There’s also a spacious art lab with endless supplies for kids to use. With everything from dried leaves and yarn to paint and textiles, there are endless way to create! 🎨

They also host birthday parties and have weekly art and STEM classes as well! We can’t wait to go back :)

Topaz Farm has so many things for the kids to play and climb (lots of cool farming equipment that my son loved!) There’s a pumpkin house for photo ops and adult beverages for purchase! It’s free admission Tuesdays to Thursdays!

Smith Berry Barn is a cosy u-pick farm where you can grab hot coffee or freshly baked donuts from their large farm market. There is a small hay maze and kids play area as well. Be sure to bring quarters to purchase food for the animals!

Frog Pond Farm is the best pumpkin patch for kids (and adults) who love animals, especially llamas — they freely roam around the pumpkin patch! There’s also TONS of activities on the grounds. You can easily spend a whole day here.

This year marks 10 (!!!) years of living in Portland. I was 4 months pregnant with my first baby when we moved here. I honestly thought we’d be here for a few years max, and then we’d move back to Canada.

A decade and two children later - we are still here! I don’t know if I really believe in the idea of a “forever” home anymore. Maybe we will eventually find our way back to 🎶our home and native land 🎶

But for now…this feels like home 🌲🍃🍁

The new store at is having their grand opening this weekend! 🎉

They will have lots of kid-friendly fun, including a mural brick building activity. Each kid (or adult) gets to picks a square tile to make and then add to the wall. It will create a huge mosaic and the final mural will be revealed on Sunday afternoon!

Bella organic farm is a must stop on Sauvie island! Packed with great food, an organic market, hayrides and corn mazes there’s something for everyone at the farm. Free entry for the pumpkin patch, but the kid friendly corn maze is $10 for entry.
they also have a haunted corn maze that is only open over the weekends & tickets start at $32.
