This young woman, from the Tsaatan tribe in Mongolia, Central Asia, is riding a deer. She is one of the 500 people considered to be the last reindeer herders in Mongolia.
The Dukha people, also known as the Tsaatan, are referred to as the “reindeer people” in Mongolia. They are the last group in the world known to ride reindeer. Only a few hundred remain, and it is believed that fewer than 50 families still live this way, despite the lack of an exact census.
