BREAKING: The Court of Appeal has ruled that the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) is legally enforceable and that First Nations can hold the Province accountable when it fails to meet its obligations. This represents a massive milestone for Indigenous rights in British Columbia.

The ruling comes from Gitxaała Nation’s appeal in their challenge of B.C.’s outdated 'free entry' mineral tenure system. The Court found that B.C.’s mineral claim process is inconsistent with the U.N. Declaration and confirmed that the Province has a legal duty to work with Nations to align its laws.

Congratulations to Gitxaała on this victory and upholding Gitxaała law.

Edison Eskeets, a 66-year-old runner from Springstead, New Mexico, has spent decades preparing for a journey that mirrors one of the most painful chapters in Diné history. Through distance running, ceremony and storytelling, Eskeets retraced the 330-mile route of the Long Walk to honor those who en...

Another one on the Alleged Pretendian List. What researching that list showed us is that Native people know who the fakes are in their workplaces and professional fields.

Huh. Bluffy won’t admit she committed ethnic fraud and callously stole and monetized the experiences of First Nation and Native American adoptees? Can we say Pretendians are sick people?

Since being stripped of her Order of Canada medals, Buffy Sainte-Marie told the Canadian Press in a statement that she has returned the medals with ‘a good h...

When fact-checking and your real ancestors are such a threat to you?

Still no retraction from NPR. Please write to them!

“My sole comment is that I encourage the many other victims of Ms. Keeler’s years-long stalking and harassment campaigns, independently described by third party journalists as ‘bullying’ and ‘not journalism,’ to prioritize their safety,” Auld said in an email to The Post.

“This a criminal matter and [we] will continue to refer all incidents to law enforcement.” [Kiros Auld]

Keeler denied she unfairly targeted anyone in her research.

“I am disappointed in NPR Code Switch’s rebroadcasting across the US during Native American Heritage Month a poorly reported Canadian podcast attacking an American Indian journalist’s work exposing people monetizing American Indian identity in the US,” Keeler told The Post, referring to the podcast which Auld appeared on, which is called “Pretendians” and first aired on the Canadaland network in Canada.”

Indigenous experts say that Kiros Auld is not linked to the Pamunkey indigenous group.

Here we are again.

“With Trump’s win, Utah Republican Rep. John Curtis predicted Tuesday night, the boundaries of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument — which Trump also dramatically reduced — will shrink again.”

A new Trump administration will set environmental and energy policies that will affect millions of acres in Utah.

From Pollen Nation's founder:

"I am requesting your help today, on Indigenous Peoples Day (and my birthday), to fund a social media campaign to educate the public on the issue of Pretendianism. It is evident from this experience that people need a lot more education on why and what we do to hold con artists accountable for exploiting our trauma and falsely monetizing it.

It is also evident that my thousands of words written in carefully fact-checked articles are not being read. Nor are the interviews I have given on radio and television or presentations on panels being consulted.

So, I have decided to assemble a social media team to assist me in producing short TikToks or reels to disseminate the information I have to a larger audience. You can help in this by supporting my efforts via a GoFundMe I have launched: https://gofund.me/ac6c6334.

Thank you so much for any support you can provide. It will all make a difference, not just to me but to all Native people who struggle against marginalization and aggression from Pretendians. And yes, we will do a TikTok explaining how Pretendians harm Native people in the workplace and even in their families!"

A library in Maryland recently canceled my event due to defamatory claims made by a Pretendian. In 2024, the library believed the fraud & silenced a Native woman ––this has to change.

"The Nez Perce Tribe is extremely disheartened to hear that before leaving a candidate forum in Kendrick last Monday, a state senator publicly told a Nez Perce Tribal member running for the Idaho legislature to “go back to where [she] came from.”

The Nez Perce Tribe has called this area home for tens of thousands of years and has a bond with this land that is deep and unbreakable. As its first inhabitants, we welcomed the Lewis and Clark expedition to the area in 1805, witnessed the birth of Idaho a little over 130 years ago, and have demonstrated a substantial, diversifying impact on Idaho’s economy.

Given our history and presence in the region, it is difficult to interpret the recent incident as anything other than an attempt to racially divide people while diminishing the value of some relative to others. The Nez Perce Tribe refuses to tolerate this kind of hateful and divisive politics and we ask other elected leaders in this region to stand with us in pushing back against such offensive behavior."

The Nez Perce Tribe is condemning remarks from a Republican politician who told a Native candidate to "go back to where you came from."

"A group called the RECA Warriors — citizens of the Navajo and Hopi nations, as well as the Laguna, Jemez and Acoma Pueblos — made their way to Washington, D.C., to pressure the government to take action on the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act.

In June, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act expired, ending financial compensation for those affected by the U.S. uranium industry in the Southwest. This includes thousands of Native Americans who worked in and around uranium mines on reservations like the Navajo Nation, which has over 500 former mining sites that remain abandoned or unremediated today."

Native people from the Southwest gathered at the U.S. Capitol to call attention to the impacts of domestic uranium production and urge the House of Representatives to hold a vote to reauthorize and expand the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act
