Exciting to see the Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon feature one of our current projects, Black Butte Ranch’s new main lodge. The 28,000 sf lodge is making it’s way through construction and will soon be a breathtaking building at the popular Central Oregon destination.

Principal and Interiors Director Britni Jessup has been honored with a DJC Women of Vision Award!

The award celebrates “women who are shaping the built environment with their technical skill, leadership, mentorship, community involvement, and creation of opportunities for the next generation.”

Britni has quickly risen to a leadership role at Rowell Brokaw. She established a new interiors department and has successfully completed numerous award-winning projects for Oregon-based clients. Her ability to save, reuse, or selectively demolish existing structures and materials reduces cost while creating appealing, refreshed environments. Senior Principal John Rowell describes Britni as “a natural leader who actively listens and collaborates with clients, staff, and consultants. Her energy and poise are infectious.”

Britni is actively involved in the community. As a member of BRING Recycling’s Board of Directors, Britni has helped further the mission of waste education in schools and construction waste diversion and reuse programs. As a part of the Architecture Foundation of Oregon’s Board of Directors and member of the K-5 education committee, she has participated and promoted the Architects in Schools program for the last 12 years.

Through her involvement with a local elementary school, Britni and others created a “Green School Initiative” and won the EWEB Greenpower grant to support adding solar panels to the school. Other designed projects included a school garden with outdoor learning space and a remodel of the library into a multi-disciplinary media center.

Congratulations, Britni and all the inspiring women commemorated with this award!

We're so proud of SERA Senior Associate and Resiliency Planner Erin Reome who will be honored with a Daily Journal of Commerce Women of Vision award this week. We thought it would give us a perfect opportunity to feature some of the pro bono work that she is so passionate about.

“Doing this volunteer work was my lifeline through the pandemic,” said Erin. “It gave a sense of purpose that I was doing something immediately useful for communities in need. Being able to connect with communities to help people with things they needed at that moment was rewarding and therapeutic.”
