Writers Magazine University of Portland's Creative Work Magazine Writers Magazine is an annual publication of student work at the University of Portland.

It is a chance for students to be published and share their photography, artwork, creative writing, and more! Original Written Works:
Short stories, personal essays, poetry, one act plays, etc.
[Word limit: 2,000 words]


Original Visual Works:
Photography, illustration, painting, sculpture, comic, etc.
[Color or B&W; .jpeg; 300+ dpi]

And on the last day of writersmas, the Writers editorial board announces Sacred Geometry as the spring ’25 theme !!!

The Writers editorial board was inspired by patterns found in nature, including naturally occurring symmetries, spirals, waves, and other fractals. The occurrence of these shapes represent a bridge between the scientific and artistic worlds— the beauty, sublime, and mysterious nature of the environment. What are the origins of these patterns, what makes them aesthetically beautiful or, in some cases, disturbing? organic mysteries… mathematical models… architectural triumphs and improbabilities…. snowflakes... starfish… glitches… flukes…
