Standing proudly at the entrance to Portland Harbor, Ram Island Ledge Light has been guiding sailors safely home since 1905. Built after a series of shipwrecks on the dangerous ledges off Cape Elizabeth, this granite tower rises 77 feet above the water and still flashes its light every six seconds.

You can catch a great view from Fort Allen Park, the Eastern Prom, or by boat for a closer look at one of Maine’s most iconic beacons.
