Happy Memorial Day. Today we pause to reflect and remember those who gave their lives for this country.

I was able to capture people honoring Michael P. Murphy through a workout named after him: Murph. For me, it is always the in between moments that matter most. The moments when the excitement wears off and the reality sets in. The weight of the vest. The reps still ahead. The distance left to cover. That is when something bigger than yourself has to take over.

It is in those quiet moments of struggle that you remember this is such a small sacrifice compared to what so many gave. And because of that, you keep going. Thankful to everyone who let me capture these moments and be a small part of honoring their memory.

Trying to get better at not just posting the final product, but also sharing the process behind it. Not full behind the scenes… just little snippets of what goes into the videos and photos I create.

Here’s a fun one I was working on today using DaVinci Resolve’s feature and layering in some custom text sound bites from Marty Supreme. Small details like this are what make editing so fun to me.

Year two filming Lift A Plooza… and it almost did not happen.

Nashville was hit with one of the biggest ice storms in years. Trees down. Power outages everywhere. The city slowed to a stop but somehow the gym still had power so the show went on.

Between capturing the guest speaker, athlete interviews, and all the coaching moments I got locked into the job and completely forgot to film behind the scenes. When you are in flow during a paid shoot the focus shifts to getting the work done right.
