Highlighting historic downtowns, STA shares the anecdotes on how they continue to thrive in today’s globalized world. The s

mall town adventures of each episode motivate us to tour our own backyards; to travel the backroads and take a staycation. Come taste the artisan ales and walk the winding trails. Enjoy an entertaining festivity and chow down at a mom and pop eatery or visit the spooky side and take a wild ride. Small towns open their arms with their heartfelt charm. SANTA ROSA, NEW MEXICO - Population 2500

Here you'll find the blue hole in the midst of the desert, sparkling like a giant deep blue gem. Once known as Blue Lake, it's one of seven sister lakes that are connected underground by a vast system of water.

Nomadic tribes, cowboys, and now tourists driving across the Pecos, have stopped here to rest and see the crystal clear blue water.

Located on the Pecos River, between Albuquerque and Amarillo, it is called the Scuba Diving Capital of the Southwest. Because of the 81-foot-deep natural artesian spring it is a comfortable 62 degrees all rear around.


While you're there, stop by the Route 66 Auto Museum.
