News With My Fiancé is going on a brief hiatus.

Life is asking a lot of us right now, and caregiving has to take priority for the moment.

This is a pause, not a goodbye.

We’ll keep y’all updated, we’ll still be around online, and when it’s time to relaunch, we’re gonna to be extra loud about it. 🎙️💍

You can’t reform this.

A mother called police for help during her son’s mental health crisis.
Clackamas County deputies showed up and escalated to violence within seconds.

Swipe through all 3 videos:

1️⃣ The viral bystander footage
2️⃣ The first deputy’s body cam
3️⃣ The body cam from the deputy throwing punches

The Sheriff’s Office released these videos in the name of “transparency,” apparently believing the footage would justify the force because the man was “resisting.”

Instead, the videos raise even more questions.

Deputies never clearly articulate why they’re there before detaining him, putting hands on him, searching his pockets, and eventually charging him — mostly with charges tied to the encounter itself. Deputies claim they found a m**h pipe during the search.

And once again, the public is debating a civilian’s behavior frame-by-frame to decide whether someone in crisis was “compliant enough” to deserve not getting beaten by police, while ignoring that officers skipped past the part where they’re supposed to justify stopping him at all.

Watch closely how fast this goes from 0 to excessive force.
