Day adventure with the littles 🥾🏝️
We took the girls out for their first all‑day adventure. They’ve never done a full outing like this before, since Lilly wasn’t able to join us on long days anymore.
We wandered around Ft. Stevenson, explored the Russell Battery, and poked around the woods. Tried to make it to Seaside, but the wind had other plans, so we detoured and ended up in Manzanita instead.
Fern lit up at the beach. Digging, zooming, pure joy.
Fern also made me carry her over a bridge because she decided that one was suspicious. It’s always a surprise which bridges are acceptable and which are “absolutely not.”
The girls did great in the car too — which is a big win, because Fern still thinks getting into the car is the hardest part of any journey, even though it always leads somewhere fun.
It felt good to make space for new adventures while carrying the old ones with us.
