Morey Mossovitz Ed.D, Associate Athletic Director at Syracuse University emphasize adaptability. Syracuse’s recently completed football operations center was designed with movable signage and flexible design elements so spaces can evolve with current players and recruiting needs while still honoring program history.

Facilities are no longer simply brick-and-mortar structures. They are recruiting tools, storytelling platforms, and digital environments that help connect athletes and fans to a program’s identity.

“We’ve tried to be very digital heavy with our current athletes,” Mossovitz says.

Morey Mossovitz of Syracuse University explains how NIL, constant roster movement, and evolving fan expectations are forcing athletics leaders to rethink facilities, technology, and the overall student-athlete experience.

As director of administrative services and facilities for Stout, Norma Maldonado oversees workplace environments across the firm’s 26 offices, shaping how thousands of employees experience their day-to-day work.

Over the past year, Maldonado’s most prominent initiative has been the relocation of Stout’s corporate headquarters in Chicago. The move represented a broader shift in how the firm wanted its headquarters to function in a more flexible work environment.

“The design and development phase was especially enjoyable because it gave us the freedom to take creative risks that really paid off,” Maldonado says. “Seeing colleagues genuinely excited about the space made all the effort worth it.”

Norma Maldonado is helping redefine how Stout’s people work and connect by leading a company-wide transformation of office spaces built for flexibility, collaboration, and long-term growth.

Midwest Glass has been serving Brookings, South Dakota, and the surrounding area since 1974. That kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when a company takes care of people, does honest work, and shows up day after day, even when no one’s watching.

Midwest Glass does roughly $4.5 million in annual revenue and handles everything from residential windows and doors to commercial storefronts, aluminum doors, curtain walls, auto glass, fabrication, and custom showers. If it involves glass, the team can most likely source, install, and repair it.

When Seth Sayler stepped into ownership, the goal wasn’t to flip the company, modernize it for the sake of modernizing, or reinvent what already worked. The goal was simple: protect the people, enhance the culture, and create a clear path to team success.

Seth Sayler is reshaping Midwest Glass by putting people, trust, and sustainability at the center of the business, proving that long-term success starts from the inside out.

As vice president of construction for The Picklr, Jason Bauerle plays a central role in one of the fastest expansion stories in sports and recreation. His energy mirrors the brand’s momentum, and his enthusiasm reflects The Picklr’s broader mission to grow the pickleball community across the United States and internationally.

Bauerle’s path into the pickleball industry began unexpectedly. While building a home for his family, he decided to install a pickleball court. That project introduced him to court construction and opened the door and he began taking on court installation leads from the product supplier, recognized the rising demand tied to the sport’s popularity, and launched his own court surfacing company. Within a short time, that business became one of the largest pickleball surfacing operations in Utah.

That success led to a partnership with The Picklr, helping develop early indoor facilities and proving the viability of premium indoor pickleball. When the company shifted to a franchise-based growth model, Bauerle was recruited to oversee construction standards and national rollout.

Jason Bauerle is helping fuel The Picklr’s rapid expansion by turning disciplined construction strategy into a nationwide platform for community, competition, and the future of indoor pickleball.

Devin Huesman, senior project manager for Trinitas Ventures, operates at the intersection of construction ex*****on, team leadership, and strategic growth, helping guide a company known for its student housing expertise into new markets and new delivery models.

He joined Trinitas as a project engineer and steadily advanced, moving from project engineer to project manager and ultimately to senior project manager. Along the way, he traded the predictability of commercial real estate for the uniquely demanding rhythm of student housing construction, where delivery dates are immovable and failure to meet them directly impacts asset value.

“I always enjoyed the onsite aspects, the building that takes place,” he says.

From student housing coast to coast to new ground in build-to-rent, Devin Huesman is helping Trinitas Ventures deliver smarter projects through discipline, adaptability, and leadership under pressure.

The Community Builders is a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on building and sustaining strong communities where all people can thrive.

Deidra Tart, CPM, director of facilities for The Community Builders, Inc., oversees a national portfolio that expanded dramatically just months into her tenure and leads a facilities organization responsible for the day-to-day performance of roughly 15,000 apartment homes.

The challenge was immediate and complex. It required hiring, training, vendor restructuring, and the rapid integration of a new operational model into an already large national portfolio. As director of facilities for The Community Builders, Deidra Tart is building structure, developing leaders, and scaling operations to support nearly 15,000 homes while staying grounded in relationships, purpose, and community impact.

At Seton Hall University, where the physical campus shapes how students learn, train, and build community, Project Manager Vilma Cortina sees every renovation and new build as an opportunity to support people first.

As part of Campus Planning and Facilities Management, she manages capital projects with a human-centered lens, measuring success by the everyday experiences of students, athletes, cadets, faculty, and staff who use these spaces long after the ribbon-cutting.

She draws on a deep background in construction and general contracting, honed during more than a decade with Hunter Roberts Construction Group and additional years with LRC Construction. Coming from the GC world, she learned how to ask the right questions, see through distractions, catch unnecessary change requests, and read people well enough to get to the heart of what they truly need.

At Seton Hall University, Vilma Cortina is modernizing athletics, expanding ROTC training capacity, and bringing sustainability to life on campus by turning complex facilities projects into everyday wins for students and staff.
