Jason Espinoza, now Executive Director of University Enterprise Corporation, served as assistant VP of facilities and auxiliary services at Claremont Graduate University was responsible for ten major divisions and approximately 38 sub-units at CGU. From dining and housing to emergency management, real estate, and even community and government relations, Espinoza was deeply embedded in every layer of the university.

“My role is to really broadly serve the campus mission, to work cross sectionally at all levels to develop the campus culture and ignite the passion of students, faculty, and staff,” he says. “It does put me out there more than I’d like sometimes, but it gives me a full picture of the institution—its challenges and its wins.”

Lawrence Patterson, deputy director of facility operations management at SIU Medicine, leads a dedicated facilities team as the school, dedicated to address a shortage of physicians in downstate Illinois, as the school grows in scope both academically and physically.

He began his career in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, part of the military’s construction force. He later applied those skills in the defense and aerospace sectors, including a stint with Raytheon and Standard Aero, where he learned the intricacies of building design and HVAC systems.

At the School of Medicine, Patterson oversees maintenance, engineering, grounds, and mail distribution for a team of approximately 50. But he’s quick to deflect attention from himself. “This is about the team,” he says. “We’ve got a great group here, and I really want to highlight the work we’re doing together, across departments.”

Just Salad is a dynamic fast-casual restaurant chain with a clear mission to make everyday health and sustainability accessible to everyone. Founded in 2006 in New York City, the brand has grown into a recognizable name in the restaurant industry, with over 90 locations across multiple states.

Director of Construction Renee Co plays a vital role in helping the company expand its footprint while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

The Ottawa Police Service - Service de police d'Ottawa (OPS) in Ontario, Canada, works hard to be a partner to the community they serve and Ingrid Pedersen FMP, NCIDQ works hard daily to ensure that the OPS has the physical spaces and assets it needs to do that work.

One of the most transformative projects currently underway under Pedersen’s leadership is the South Facility, a key part of the OPS capital planning strategy. Targeted to open in early 2027, this facility will help the department keep pace with the rapid expansion of Ottawa’s southern region, now the city’s fastest-growing area.

“Our role is to ensure the police service is positioned to respond to the needs of tomorrow’s Ottawa,” she says. “As new neighborhoods emerge, we want to be ready—physically and operationally.”

One of the people ensuring that the balance between legacy and progress is maintained daily at Agnes Scott College is Corey Wilson, MBA, CPMM, the college's director of facilities. A native of the Decatur area who has lived in the community for over 40 years, Wilson brings decades of operational experience and a deep personal investment to his role.

Agnes Scott’s campus features more than 30 buildings—many of them historic—and Wilson’s team is responsible for maintaining each one. “At the end of the day, I don’t do the work alone—I partner with an amazing team,” Wilson says. “My job is to give them the tools, the recognition, and the support to do that work at the highest level.”
