Damnationland

Every year, I get chills seeing this trailer come out. It's like the first time you hear Christmas carols, but darker. And with slightly more screaming.

Ladies and gentlmen, here is the official Damnationland 2017 trailer.

Damnationland presents genre-defying original works from Maine filmmakers that redefine the classic thriller and horror categories. Now in its eighth year, the Damnationland 2017 program will feature world premieres of five short films produced in Maine by Mainers, especially for the Halloween season.

This year’s crop of Maine-based talent includes short features by Mackenzie Bartletti, Tadin Jeongshin Brown, Alexander Richard Balzano& Ellis Ducharme, Alex Steed, and Charlotte Warren, with interstitial segments between each piece by Derek R. Brigham, Julia Haltof, Stacey Mancine Koloski, Shannon Meserve, Melissa Salmi, and Clark Shepard.

Hey all! I am looking for a couple crew members for a Damnationland shoot on Saturday, 9/10.

It's unpaid, but you will certainly be rewarded at the pearly gates of Heaven. Just tell St. Peter that you know me. You should be all set.

So many movies, so little time as Nashville Film Festival previews its 2016 slate

TWO Maine-made films are gonna be at the Nashville Film Festival this year. If you are making movies in Maine, you are in good company. Andrea Nilosek should probably be in Nashville this April. Who else worked on both Neptune AND Five Nights in Maine?

It's not often this happens. It's not often you get the perfect group of people, with the perfect source material, and the perfect amount of time.

But this production, Scenes from an Infertility, was all of those things. From when Rhad Davis just wrote a song off the top of his head that made me cry, through a crazy rehearsal schedule with Anna Gravel and David Surkin that turned out to be a crash course in musical theater, up until Barbara Levault jumped on board at the last minute to play two different roles, the whole process seemed perfect.

I just feel so lucky to work with good people that make everything I do better. I hope and wish so dearly to do the same for them. Thanks, guys. You are good. Very good.

There's some many good things about these people. But one of the best is that they can sing. Very well.
