I am excited to share tomorrow's recipe in the Eat Drink Lucky newsletter from Eventide Oyster Co.'s cookbook, Eventide. It's for ramps with romesco, and really, what could be more delicious?! Thanks to Eventide, and to LeRoux Kitchen for sponsoring the recipe column. Now to get some ramps, good thing the Portland Farmers' Market is open on Wednesdays!

This was a few weeks ago but remains fresh because, I'll just say it, from now on I want my champagne on a rooftop deck, preferably opened with a sabre by the importer. What an amazing afternoon! Thank you to Devin Finigan for the amazing bites from her new book, A Kitchen On Goose Cove, and Aragosta, and Victorieux Champagne for the incredible sips (which you can find at a few shops and restaurants - but also order through !). A huge thank you to host Susan for bringing all of this wonderfulness together. We'll share a recipe from Devin's cook book in December as part of our monthly column series (are you subscribed to the newsletter?? you should be), and are already curious to see which one it will be 💕

Yes, I absolutely swiped a taste of the filling before I snapped the photo, and you know what, I'm ok with that. The Kouign Amann from Bread & Friends is always delicious because it's a such great contrast in texture and flavor, but the guava is probably our favorite!

Today's email was our monthly recipe column, this time sharing a delicious cookie from the new Italian Cookies book by Domenica Marchetti. Sharing a new recipe like this each month is a lot of fun, each person featured has shared something very different, and tempting. Thank you to LeRoux Kitchen for sponsoring the series, and to Domenica Cooks for sharing!

Gardening is not unlike cooking, at least in my mind I find multiple similarities: prep and clean up, of course, but also creativity, the act of "doing", and getting to enjoy the results. Eat Drink Lucky introduced a bi-monthly garden column last summer. It's a casual look at gardening in Maine, and I hope you'll follow along. I've included a photo of writer Tom Atwell 's clematis (the purple) and three of mine (fuchsia, white, dark purple) to help get excited about things to come! Thank you to Skillins for sponsoring this new column 🪴 Sign up here https://eatdrinklucky.com/from-the-garden where you can also read the most recent column, out yesterday

Another wonderful Maine Restaurant Week meal! The MRW menu featured a first course option of salad with a cashew dressing or roasted carrots; salmon or short rib in a red wine jus, and chocolate sundae or a twist on banana foster. There are a few more dishes shown here including mussels stuffed with chorizo, tuna tartare, and a fun and fizzy palate cleanser. The delicious food and warm service made for a wonderful evening. Tomorrow is the last night of Maine Restaurant Week!
