360 Labs

360 Labs We're a Portland Oregon based production company specializing in 360º video, VR, and Virtual Tours.

360 Labs is a production company specializing in 360º immersive panoramic photography and video based out of Portland Oregon. Our goal is to create meaningful and memorable experiences for virtual reality, desktop and mobile applications. As 360º cinematographers, we capture experiences in full 360x180 video for the explosive new VR medium. Each of 360 Labs founders are also certified by Google to

provide businesses with interior Street View, a high quality interior virtual tour integrated with Google Maps. In addition, we can create fully customized proprietary virtual tours, tailored to your needs. With ultra high resolution Gigapixel imagery, we can create vast panoramic views of audiences at events for social media tagging, or simply enhance a beautiful landscape with the ability to zoom in and see the smallest detail. These are only a few of our favorite art forms, above all else we love to capture the world around us. If you're passionate about 360 like we are, we'd love to talk!

Our latest immersive video is now available! Minam River 360: An Immersive Field Tour in VR explores an ambitious public lands acquisition, nearly 17,000 acres in the foothills of the Wallowa Mountains are now in public hands. This place is an amazing habitat where elk and other species can thrive, and provides another access point to the Eagle Cap Wilderness.

360 Labs worked with the Oregon Department of Forestry, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to document this project, which is part of the Forest Legacy Program. The program's aim is to preserve forests and wildlife habitats, while maintaining non-motorized public access. Local recreation provides economic opportunities for the state. Since its creation in 1990, the program has conserved over 3 million acres of forest land and expanded across the country to 53 states and territories.

This immersive video is a valuable tool for Oregon's Forestry and Fish & Wildlife Departments to easily bring the remote wilderness to the legislators and policymakers to see the benefits of this investment in the future of Oregon's wilderness.

You can explore this beautiful landscape in stunning 8K stereoscopic 3D 360 video on YouTube VR, and learn more about how this project came to be.

We're excited to be able to share more about the project that kept us busy through most of 2024. Oregon Forest Industries Council says the immersive video we made for them was "more memorable than any social ad we’ve run." It's a testament to the power of immersive video and VR for advocacy. OFIC was able to provide an in-depth view into Oregon's timber industry with transparency and unprecedented access. Do you want to know how Oregon's sustainable timber industry works? Now you can see for yourself.

Learn more about how we pulled it off:

In 2022, the Oregon Forest Industries Council (OFIC) launched For the Trees, a long-term public awareness campaign designed to reshape how Oregonians see the modern timber industry. By 2024, the campaign had built a strong foundation and was ready for something new: an immersive experience that coul...

Here's some behind the scenes fun from our latest project. We're honored that 360 Labs had the opportunity to capture this positive story about public lands. The Minam River Wildlife area is over 17,000 acres connected directly to Oregon’s 365,000 acre Eagle Cap Wilderness. Having this place in the hands of the public and protected means elk and other wildlife can thrive. They see anywhere from 300 to 1,000 head of elk on the property in a given day. This also brings money into the local economy from hunters, hikers, anglers, rafters, and more.

We spent 5 days there with the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, capturing immersive 360 video in stereoscopic 3D. We saw elk, deer, turkeys, bears, and even heard wolves howl. We were even fortunate enough to catch a rare aurora event with our nightlapse camera.

We’re working on an immersive video about how this wildlife area came to be, and how Oregon plans to manage it in the future. Can't wait to get back out there some day!

We had a great time at the premiere of "For the Trees" last night! There's still a chance to experience this deep dive into the history and future of Oregon's Timber industry tonight at 5:30 and 7:30 at OMSI's Kendall Planetarium. (see below for tickets)

04/29/2025

Our latest immersive 360 film made for Oregon Forests Forever is premiering at a special event at OMSI's Kendall Planetarium, May 13 and 14.

“For the Trees” explores Oregon’s sustainable timber industry, taking a deep dive into Oregon’s timber harvest practices from the 1800s to modern day, how we train for and respond to wildfires, and new innovative ways lumber is being used in construction.

There are 2 shows each evening, with a panel discussion and Q&A session after. We'll also have a VR station set up if you'd like to experience clips from the film in fully immersive 3D 360. Tickets are on sale now, all proceeds go to OMSI.

We're excited to be able to share more about the work we did with GALY in Brazil. GALY's mission is to transition the world to sustainable cellular agriculture. They sent us deep into the heartlands of Brazil, to Mato Grosso, to understand how deforestation has changed the landscape. We created an 8K 3D 360 immersive film for GALY to share their mission with potential investors and partners.

Immersive media (especially 360) can be a great tool for advocacy, considering it's transparent nature. In a world where media is often mistrusted, 360 video shows reality.

Looking back, 360 Labs has done a lot of work for the food and agriculture industries. These projects are always challenging and physically demanding, but very rewarding. The best part is the wonderful people we meet who share their stories with us (and sometimes even their dinner table).

Niman Ranch hired 360 Labs to produce immersive farm tours for VR headsets. They needed a way to get prospective buyers and partners out to the farms, despite travel restrictions during the height of the pandemic. Immersive 360 video made it possible to feel like you're really there, and even gave unique perspectives that you can’t see in person.
