My name is Allison and I am the owner and founder of this Maine-based creative business. I am a furniture artist, first and foremost, but I do have frequent love affairs with vintage shops, interior design, power tools, and other crafty goodness. "Gooey Gump" came about as a childhood nickname given to me by my parents. It was a term of endearment when I faithfully went a little too far on a class project (...just *one* more flourescent swirl, star, or googley eye on a science fair poster meant that I had "gooey gumped" it up). It was an afternoon activity growing up as an only child "Just go to your room and gooey gump something for a few hours until dinner is ready". And perhaps the most often as a replacement curse word when I inevitably splashed, spilled, or dumped, nail polish, puffy paints, or glitter onto my bedroom carpet. But in my defense, cream colored carpet for a messy kid?

Solo day date, but make it stained glass.

I spent a rainy morning at Glass Mermaid Studios with Moxie East in Freeport learning something completely new, and somehow came home with these beauties.

We’ve always found a way to squeeze in annual apple picking, but this year felt a little different.

We checked the forecast, reviewed the sports calendar and actually picked the best day, not just the time we had an open 90 minutes and staff scheduled.

I’m constantly trying to find the balance between giving my kids a 90s childhood and being a Pinterest mom.

And somehow that balance has me frosting unicorn cupcakes very poorly at midnight.

In the 90s, someone’s mom bought a sheet cake, put out a bowl of Humpty Dumpty chips and called it a birthday party.

We let the birthday girl call the shots for the evening, and S C O O P D E C K was very much the main event.

The flavor situation is borderline overwhelming in the best possible way, so naturally choosing just one was never going to happen. She understood the assignment: skip the birthday cake, order the ice cream flight. 😂

Nothing elaborate. Just ice cream, a summer night in Maine, and a very happy family memory. One of those simple nights I already know I’m going to miss when these girls are bigger.

One of you told me to try brow threading + tinting and I fear you’ve created a monster. 😂

My brows were previously microbladed, but for whatever reason the pigment didn’t take quite right and faded to a light reddish color. I’d basically accepted that if my eyes are the windows to the soul they just had bad curtains hanging above them.

Enter rubyeyebrowthreading in Scarborough. Threading + tinting and suddenly I have actual brows again. 🙌

It’s quick, relatively inexpensive, and now officially one of my favorite little “high maintenance to be low maintenance” things. Because anything that lets me do LESS every morning when “I cannot be bothered” is staying in the rotation.

And yes, this discovery came directly from one of you. Keep the recommendations coming: mama needs an anti aging facial treatment, where’s the magical one to try?
