The Rye Room is a full service recording studio owned and operated by engineer/producer Matt Greco, located in southwest Portland.

Serving the Pacific Northwest, The Rye Room provides musicians with a recording experience tailored to each individual or group. Every band or artist brings unique elements into their music. Our goal is to distill these elements with care, handcrafting each record to be the best it can be. We believe recording is about the experience. We have put a great deal of thought into design, vibe, and comf

ort to ensure you are able to deliver your best performance. Back in the studio!! A nice vacation is a must not only for mental health but a solid recharge. Spent a hot 10 days in Mexico with friends and my love . It was incredible and I’m excited to dive back into projects. September is starting to book up, but I still have a few slots open if you’re looking to start something. Happy end of summer!

We have a new 2 track tape machine in the house! We loved our Otari but this beautiful Scully 280b from the 70s came along and it has some serious mojo. It not only looks incredible but sounds even better. Fully calibrated and up to spec, this machine is ready for your project! What a week! So thankful to the best team a producer can ask for and for bringing in beautifully written songs. This new record has been such a dream to work on and I can’t wait to get this music out into the world. Really should have taken more pictures but the joy on our faces really captures the feeling for the week.
