Back to bathing kittens. I brought in 7 tonight!!! The water was so incredibly red from flea dirt.

Somebodies home and hanging out on the heat disc. He’s doing well on iv fluids so he’s staying on them. We don’t know what’s wrong with him and unfortunately he needs to get bigger to support further testing.

Sweet Kia passed away this morning. I know I just posted her bath video, which makes this feel even more surreal. She had been doing so well, and then suddenly started having seizures. Unfortunately, her prognosis was very poor, and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. This is such a devastating time for these kittens. Losing them after watching them fight so hard is incredibly difficult. Kia is also a heartbreaking reminder of why we have to be proactive about spaying and neutering. There are simply too many kittens being born, and too many of them facing illness, suffering, and lives that are far too short. Rest peacefully, sweet Kia. You were loved. 💕

As I always say the weaning age is the messiest! Lots of baths to get the food off of them, especially the fluffy kittens.

Somebody’s ransom was paid and he’s broken out of the ER! All joking aside, Toyota is back to normal. He had lab work done, we don’t know why he had these 2 episodes. We do know his liver values are normal so less likely a liver shunt. Could be a parasite burden causing hypoglycemic episodes but we don’t know if he was truly hypoglycemic because my glucometer was broken (ordered a new one). What we know worked was iv fluids, glycemic support and 12 hours of fluids. He’s a brand new kitten. More testing next week. As you can see he clearly missed his sisters (Kia and Mercedes). Thank you Krystal for picking him up and being there for me. Krystal Everett

Toyota is at the ER. He was great all week but today as I was leaving town he crashed again. I’m hopeful, but realistic because of all the loss I’ve seen. I took this picture then kissed him goodbye. Hopefully, not for the last time.

We got a new friend. Her name is Tilly T-Rex. She has front limb abnormalities and we’ve sent off her X-rays to be reviewed by a surgeon we work with. She has obvious turned in wrists or carpi and I’m trying to get her body used to them being straight. It also looks like her right humerus is shorter than it should be and her elbows don’t flex and extend like a normal kitten. For now, she’s loved, cared for (including a mild URI) and we will help her be her best.

The ear wiggle gets me every time.

They are so happy and thriving. Toyota I can’t believe you tried to die just a few days ago. Your adoptive sisters are thriving now too!!! Everyone is gaining weight, playful, poops are better. Yay!
