Meet Sally she is my 175 yr old sour dough starter — I’m worried this might get addicting—
I always tell my hubs that I am a cook not a baker— making baked good is so precise that my adhd brain can’t handle it— but I thought this might be a good healthy way we can be more self sufficient, especially if we incorporate some of our own flours. So I told him I would try!

Please give me all the tips on how to keep Sally alive and best baking insights or ideas for what to do with the discard!!

Homesteading is hard yet rewarding work- today I’ve been working on pickling — eggs and brassicas— I love pickled cauliflower and we have purple and orange I’ve been working on- it’s taken all day and feels like a full time job 😂 for scale these heads are bigger than mine — but can’t wait to have the pickled flourettes in salads- we will put extras in the farm stand!!
