I'm trying to take steps to better my health and what better way to do that than walk for a great cause like The Jimmy Fund! I am very passionate about finding a cure for cancer but especially cancer in children and especially children with brain cancer!
My mother passed away from cancer some years back and my aunt was taken at the end of her life with acute leukemia in her final days.
I know there's many of you out there, if not a lot of you, that have been touched by a friend, family member, or distant relation that has passed from cancer, currently battling cancer, or has been recently diagnosed with cancer!
We all know the story of how the Jimmy fund was created with Ted Williams and the Boston Red Sox getting behind it and beginning it along with all the help and work of the doctors, nurses, and great support staff at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston! Through their hard work and dedication, they have saved many lives but unfortunately many lives have been lost!
So I urge you to please help me in achieving and possibly exceeding my goal of $300 to help save the lives of others that are currently getting treatment and for those in the future that need treatment!
Cancer touches everyone in some way or another! So this is why I am choosing to walk for the very first time this year in support of The Jimmy Fund!
Because in the words of Coach Jim Valvano, "Don't give up. Don't ever give up!"
I have set a goal of $300 for this fundraiser and have started with my own donation to get it going! I am asking all of you, my Facebook friends, family, and all those who know me through hockey and my other ventures to please help me and raise my goal and possibly exceed my goal for this worthwhile cause where every dollar goes to help fight cancer and not only adults but especially children!
Thank you so much for reading this and I thank you in advance for your donations to the link below!
