Texas singer-songwriter Joe Ely, one of the greatest rock and roll performers I have ever seen, and I’ve seen quite a few, passed on December 15 at the age of 78. Lori and I saw him many times in Texas, never a bad show, and I am proud to say I knew him. On Monday, December 29, from 12:08 (following the Spanish-language news) to 2 pm I will be honoring Joe with nearly two hours of his music, covering 50 years, recorded live and in the studio, on KBOO’s The Noontime Jamboree.
