Peace Portal began as a way to share the sounds of the growing dance music scene in the Pacific Northwest from the small but noisy town of Bellingham, Washington. Over the course of it's 5 years, Peace Portal has grown into an outlet for underground dance music from the Paci

fic Northwest, down the West Coast, and beyond through two radio shows on non-commercial radio stations, feature write-ups and interviews on the Peace Portal blog, and the occasional party. Radio Shows:

🌀 103. Casual Decay 🌀

is the primary alias for Portland-based Jon Nasrallah. Although originally from Nashville, Jon has laid deep roots in the PNW.

As a facilitator with , Jon provides access to an array of hardware synthesizers and shares his skills as an educator with the community by leading workshops on modular synthesis.

Through the alias Casual Decay, Jon explores organically evolving sonic textures inspired by ecological and cellular processes, just as comfortable improvising beneath trees in public parks as they are carefully scoring for film. Although mainly focused on Casual Decay, Jon can also be found conjuring gritty and abrasive new wave and electro inspired music as Thinking Spell, and when DJing rather than live performing, it's DJ Tropical Goth (as you'll hear in this mix).

Each of these identities represents a different facet of an adept musician, whose expressions know few limits. It's a pleasure to share Jon's work, and catch up with them here.

Lu is a multi-genre DJ that has taken up residency at numerous clubs and venues in Portland (.witch.house / & more).

Focused on Darkwave, Witchhouse, Dubstep/140, downtempo and more, Lu's emphasis is on dark & heavy sounds. Their influences have led them to revel in blending these genres, as demonstrated on this mix.

Originally from NY, Lu has established themselves firmly in Portland with their deft yet spellbinding approach to selecting bass heavyweight, despite sticking to the fringes.

is the producer and DJ alias for Portland's Zach Bowman. Zach has been producing electronic music for 10+ years, combining ethereal harmonies with dynamic rhythms to create emotive moments for the dancefloor.

Despite relative radio silence since their first full length release last year, Zach has been hard at work producing and returning to school to study audio engineering.

It's a pleasure to feature them for Peace Portal's first live broadcast from Portland's Secret Grove on our host station!
