Great interviews in Bend, Oregon, a couple weeks ago for the Club’s VIP interview series. We had the honor of sitting down with Alan Watts, the godfather of American sport climbing who pioneered Smith Rock and the modern style of bolted routes, and Jim Karn, who dominated the early comp scene and helped elevate sport climbing in the US. More work with the Club coming soon.

It’s been super fulfilling to tell stories from the world of cancer therapy over the last few years with some awesome clients, and this next one with the feels like a culmination.

Everyone has been touched by this horrible disease, but there’s a lot of reasons to be hopeful about the future, and the challenge of combining science communication and adventure is in the DNA at Bedrock.

We’re currently in post production on a documentary about Maurice Hatchett’s journey with Multiple Myeloma and the revolutionary advances in immunotherapy.

The film follows him through treatment and then a bucket list trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, featuring the godfather of CAR T-cell therapy, Dr. Carl June.

Two new films produced for the The American Alpine Club are joining the lineup at the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival this week in Arizona: "Red Rock Revolution" about the genesis of climbing in Nevada's Red Rock Canyon led by Joanne and Jorge Urioste, and "Jack Tackle: American Alpinist", a short film celebrating the legacy of one of modern alpine climbing's great pioneers.

At the end of our week camped on the razor sharp lava rock of Isla Isabela, a remote corner of the Galápagos Islands, we realized that our base was actually at 0 degrees latitude - parked exactly on the equator, splitting the world between the northern and southern hemispheres. Under a stunning, moonless showing of the Milky Way, it was a cosmic reminder of how small we all are in the universe and how much we still do not understand on this planet and beyond.
