We've spent eight years in this beautiful place building our Dream together. Goals have shifted, perspectives changed, and priorities are different but one thing will always remain:

I am confident the partner I chose for this life wholeheartedly wants to see me win, and that is half of what makes a person successful. (Leslie Desmond says if they're not there to help they're in the way, so I think I found a good one 😄)

When we bought this farm we closed exactly one month to the day before we were planned to be married here. It rained on our wedding day and I was supposed to ride my soul horse, Kharuso down the aisle, he was to give me away (not my parents🙄) but due to his umbrella phobia we nixed that idea. When the rain let up I had to get my pictures with my boy in my wedding dress! My husband understood, but the guests were a little miffed.

Before I met her I could see the stress her system was under by just looking at her eyes.

Cranial sheers in horses often result from trauma, like falls, impacts to the head, or even difficult births. They can also develop from chronic issues like dental problems or ill-fitting tack that creates uneven pressure on the skull. My work lies in encouraging the cranial bones to return to their proper alignment, releasing the tension and restrictions that cause the sheering.

When a horse has cranial sheers, it can affect many other parts of the body because the cranium is so interconnected with the spine and nervous system. You might see issues in the neck, back, and even the hindquarters, leading to problems with movement, gait, and overall performance. It can also impact things like digestion and even behavior due to the stress on the nervous system. When the bones of the skull are out of alignment, it can cause uneven pressure around the eye sockets, making one eye appear differently positioned or causing the muscles around the eye to function unevenly.

Go take a good look at your horse and tell me what you see! Also, advanced apologies. Once you see it you'll be looking at all horses a bit differently. It can't be unseen.

Horses have THIRTY FOUR cranial bones.

Humans have EIGHT.

Now, to me, that seems like 26 more ways things could go wrong.

I know Craniosacral Therapy was created by a human, for humans first, but armed with this knowledge I feel like the benefit for horses is exponentially greater from this Therapy than it is for any other creature.

Not JUST because they have more cranial bones, but because we also:

-use equipment on their face to control them
(Bridles, halters, chains, rope halters, etc.)
-more likely use more force than is necessary (and physically harmful) to train foals to lead, when their growth plates are very open
-hard tie/ cross tie horses (they've all pulled back at least ONCE in their lives
-have witnessed accidents when grazing, horses stepping on their ropes and panicking
-put a piece of metal in their mouth, sometimes with leverage, ports, and other action that creates discomfort in the wrong hands in order to control

Anyways, your horse probably needs their head balanced.
