One of our favorite voices, our Dad’s youngest brother Gerald. He began his radio career at age 17 and spent the final years of his career working as an engineer for Channel 5 in Fort Smith. He always had time to lend his expertise at the station. We are so thankful for these memories.

NOTICE: A tree fell on OG&E power lines at the Runestone Park where our FM transmitter sits. Crews are on the way. KPRV will be off the air until power is restored. Thank you for your patience.

PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE – BEAR IN AREA

The Poteau Police Department, in coordination with Game Wardens, is actively attempting to locate and safely relocate a bear currently within city limits.

The bear was last tracked in the area of Bill J. Barber Park (Woods Edition). Officers have temporarily lost visual contact, and the bear’s current location is unknown.

For your safety:
• Avoid the area if possible
• Do not approach or attempt to follow the bear
• Keep children and pets indoors or closely supervised
• Secure all trash, food sources, and outdoor pet food• Remain alert when outside, especially near wooded areas

If you see the bear, DO NOT APPROACH. Call 911 immediately and provide location details.

Our priority is the safety of the public. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
