Dear Friends, I’m delighted to announce that volume 46 of “Blueline: A Literary Magazine Dedicated to the Spirit of the Adirondacks” is now available for purchase. Published annually by SUNY Potsdam, “Blueline” features the highest quality poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and regional art focused on nature's shaping influence.
“Blueline” celebrates writing about the Adirondacks but also publishes literature that interprets the nature and culture of northern New York, New England, and eastern Canada. In recent volumes, the magazine has included exceptional nonfiction about places as far afield as Alaska and North Dakota, and as close to home as the Hudson Valley.
This year’s poets include David Radavich, Katharyn Howd Machan, Cathy Cultice Lentes, Lee Slonimsky, Pam Clements, Joseph Bruchac, Grace Vermeer, James Deahl, Dale Hobson, and 35 other dynamic poets. Excellent short stories as well by Susan J. Newell, Roger Sheffer, Maisie McAdoo, and Margaret S Marangione. “Blueline” volume 46 also features stunning regional photography by Barry Lobdell and vibrant fine art by Janet Millstein. The photograph on the magazine’s cover, included here, is called “Oseetah Moment,” by Barry Lobdell.
