I never use social media anymore, and I realize it’s been awhile, so here’s a life update:
This last year has been awesome, notable moments include:
-My skin and health has never been better, I feel incredible and for those who know the struggles I have, this is so significant for me.
-Received a bipolar 2 diagnosis and receiving care for this finally has resulted in the happiest and most peaceful year of mental health I’ve ever had.
-Hiking Hawaiian National parks
-A new addition to our little fam: Schmidt. Luna loves her little brother!
-Zack has been incredible and we continue to support each other in our endeavors.
-Basically had my mom’s old job at the Safari Park, and worked up close with Rhinos, Giraffes, and others, educating the public on conservation and research efforts as a tour guide!
-I’ve gone back to school, for a double major in Spanish and Chinese! I plan to interpret or teach language immersion for young kiddos.

The most major update, is that Zack was accepted to his DREAM school, UC Davis!
We are moving to Sacramento in August! Nervous and excited for this new chapter for both of us; I know it will be full of many adventures. :)

I’m happier than I have ever been. :)

Long post: I rarely brag about companies or brands, but this is well deserving, so stay with me.

Y’all already know I’m very passionate about maintaining a kind and compassionate lifestyle for myself, animals, and the environment. In 2019 I got chemical burns all down my torso from a uniform at my previous company, and eventually also tested positive for an autoimmune disorder which sent me on a crazy journey to recovery. This was an AHA moment that really changed my perspective forever.

Previously I never gave much thought to the clothes and fabrics I put on my body, even though I tried to shop fair trade, sustainable, and second hand when I could. Some things were simply easier to buy new and I didn’t care the type of fabric. I’ve always had incredibly sensitive skin since I was a baby, but living in a perpetually toxic environment full of chemicals it’s easy to ignore any flare ups.

But when I saw my skin burned from the chemicals treating the fabric I was wearing, and how negatively it affected my health, I knew I had to start protecting my body, this vessel that carries me day to day. I am precious cargo. 💜

I started to clear out my closet of synthetics, chemical treatments, etc. I changed my laundry detergent and stopped using dryer sheets (seriously, Google it). And as I needed to bring in new clothes, I researched and looked far and wide for only the gentlest brands for my body and the environment.
