hey guys! So, a bit of context I (M32) have been with my wife (F30) for 3 years. she comes from a country where women get to keep their maiden name after marriage which was fine with me though as someone who comes from the south my family pushed for my wife to take my last name but she ended up keeping hers which made my family somewhat unhappy saying it was disrespectful of her to keep her maiden name but thankfully they got over it and things got better and we reconciled later. now this "last name" issue has been brought up again when my wife and I found out we were expecting a baby boy. I sat with my wife down and told her that my son is going to get my last name and explained so that there's no confusion but she disagreed and said no and came up with a compromise which was that our son gets both our last names but I declined explaining how awkward and confusing and just complicated that would be. not too mention the middle name so that would be a long name but she said I should consider since my last name will still be there but I said no and told her we'll just have to go with what most families here do and is going by the father's last name. she threw a fit calling me selfish and accused me of treating her as if she as a mother gets less or no say but I reminded her that she got to keep her maiden name and so we're even. she then argued that I was mixing two things that are unrelated and was holding the fact she got to keep her maiden over her head though it...

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE THING! My (24F) fiance (25M) are getting married in June and we've invited our families, obviously. The colors we chose are light blue, tan, and navy blue. For a little bit of context, my parents went through a horrible divorce when I was 13. My dad's mom (the grandma I'm talking about) was VERY hateful to my mom and just outright disrespectful to her so I'm not her biggest fan. She's always gone against the rules and done whatever she's wanted to with no repercussions. She enables my dad who is an addict and she knows it's wrong (not important but just trying to set the scene). It's a little awkward going to family gatherings on my dad's side because I feel like the black sheep of the family. My sister (33F) is my half sister on my dad's side, we've become closer through the years. My grandma called me about 2pm today and we talked about wedding stuff and she asked me what I wanted her to wear. I told her I wasn't picky, just no white and no light blue. Later today, my sister and my grandma went to JCPenny to shop. My sister found a dress she loved, it's also important to note my sister is a bridesmaid in my wedding. They are wearing light blue. My grandma sees the dress and loves it as well saying it would be perfect for the wedding. However, she meant for herself. Not for my sister. My grandma bought a light blue (almost white) dress to wear to our wedding. My sister told me about it, as she thought my grandma had bought the dress for her and didn't realize that she bought it for herself (my sister is not the brightest bulb in the box),...

My [27M] older sister [30F] and her fiancé [31M] were planning for over a year for their wedding to be this month. Obviously, they can’t have the wedding as planned, but they still would like to get married, so they decided on a “Zoom” wedding where all of the family/friends would just call in to watch the officiant, my sister, and her fiancé. My sister didn’t want to be in charge of hosting the Zoom call because she thought it would stress her out, so she asked me to and I gladly accepted. She and her fiancé decided to invite everyone they originally wanted to, and it was a very big list. When we were going over the list, my sister mentioned to me that she wanted everyone else to be muted for the majority of the wedding as she was worried that others would talk over her and her fiancé and quote “overshadow” them on their big day “that was already scaled down”. However, her and her fiancé said that I should unmute everyone at one point so everyone could talk and have a nice time with each other. Fast-forward to the day of the wedding—everyone is muted during the ceremony which goes great, and so I then unmute everyone and ask to please raise a hand if they’d like to talk so it doesn’t get confusing. My cousin (around my age) starts waving his hand crazily, and he’s with his longtime girlfriend (also similar age I guess). He’s a very gregarious guy, so I was not surprised. Then, he says stuff like “(my sister) and (her husband) are such an inspiration, it’s given me the courage to do this....” then turns to his girlfriend and pulls out a box that is the size of an engagement ring box??...

My husband (34M) and me (32F) just had our first child today. We were in the delivery room together, all was going well, I was in a lot of pain, but he was really supportive. The midwife was asking us questions about the baby etc in between contractions just to help me ease my mind a little. Then she said if we are excited about the pregnancy being over and I said that yes, because it's been hard for me. My hisband snorted and said "for me too, she was so difficult". Midwife tried to change the subject, but I asked my husband what the f he means by that, and he said that he is happy it's over and he will get his wife back and "the hormonal mess is over". I was so hurt and told him to please just leave the room. He said he's not going anywhere, because his child is being born here. I yelled at him to get the f out and he was pi**ed of, called me an AH for making him miss his kid's birth and stormed off. He hasn't been back to see our daughter, he is supoosed to come later today. Aita?
