FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cody Lundin and Arizona Cowboy Poets Join the Prescott Podcast Network, CAST11.com

What do Cody Lundin, the internationally renowned outdoor survival instructor, and Prescott’s annual Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering have in common? Well, they both have a podcast, and both podcasts are now members of the CAST11.com Prescott Podcast Network.

Cody Lundin is an internationally recognized survival instructor with more than 35 years of hands-on teaching experience. In 1991, Lundin founded the Aboriginal Living Skills School. He is a published author, including 98.6 Degrees: The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive (2003) and When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes (2006). Both books have been translated into several languages and are routinely featured in the top ten best-sellers for their genre on Amazon. You may have seen Lundin a few times on television as well!

“I’m very excited to team up with CAST11.com to offer tips and techniques in self-reliance to help keep people safer in a changing world,” says Cody Lundin.

The annual Arizona Poets Gathering has been one of Prescott, Arizona’s premier events, for nearly 37 years. The primary purpose of this event and mission is to perpetuate and preserve the culture, traditions and history of cowboy poetry and music as it was enjoyed for decades past and is being presented in the contemporary form of its presentation. This gathering of more than 40 poets and singers each year has kept its focus on the working cowboy and livestock-oriented element of our social structure and folk history.

“The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering is thrilled to be a part of Talking Glass Media’s Prescott podcast network, Cast11″, says Jim Buchanan, Gathering Committee Chair. My history with the gathering goes back 37 years and our opportunities have changed from the time way back when we were at the Sharlot Hall Museum and we didn’t even record things, to being here in the studios and doing a regular podcast for Cast11. It’s a great relationship and we look forward to many more years of The Gathering and being a part of Cast11’s podcast network.”

“We are extraordinarily honored and excited to partner with two such incredible forces located right here in Central Arizona. CAST11.com, the Prescott Podcast Network, is the first streaming network dedicated to our region. Having Cody Lundin and the Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering join us is a wonderful development,” says Guy Roginson, Director, Talking Glass Media.

Prescott Valley Kid is Rebuilding Community with Popsicle Sticks

Tragedy struck Prescott Valley, Arizona on April 1, 2024, as the Legado apartment construction project burned down due to arson. The community was temporarily left in shock. But from the ashes, a surprising and heartwarming story has emerged — led by a young boy with big dreams and even bigger heart.

Meet Elijah, a local kid with a passion for fish tanks, RC cars, drumming, and, above all else, construction. In the wake of the Legado fire, Elijah didn’t just sit by and wonder what could have been. Instead, he picked up his glue gun, grabbed a pack of popsicle sticks, and decided to rebuild Legado in his own special way — one tiny stick at a time.

“Well, it had a negative impact on our community when it burned down,” Elijah explained. “So, I thought I would make a positive impact and start building one (Legado) of my own.”

And that’s exactly what he did.

Starting on December 29, 2024, Elijah began crafting a scale model of the Legado apartments entirely out of popsicle sticks. And not just a few. So far, his project has used an incredible 8,250 sticks! But Elijah isn’t stopping there. Elijah spends time every night working on his Legado. He has gathered supplies from Walmart (glue and popsicle sticks), and tiny lights from Dollar General. He has plans to get plexiglass or real glass from Home Depot, and miniature bricks and shingles from Amazon. As Elijah's Legado continues to rise, the real Legado is already being reconstructed in the heart of Prescott Valley, AZ.

Elijah’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. He recently met team members from the Fain Signature Group and Founders Building Group — the community builders behind Legado. They invited Elijah to tour the construction site and even shared the official building site map with him, giving him a behind-the-scenes look that would make any future architect beam with pride.

With wide eyes and a builder’s determination, Elijah continues his nightly mission — not just to glue popsicle sticks, but to inspire hope, creativity, and joy in a town still recovering from loss. His Legado may be miniature, but the message behind it is anything but small.

Elijah is more than just a cool kid — he’s a builder of dreams, a symbol of positivity, and a reminder that even the smallest efforts can inspire an entire community.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2025 World’s Oldest Rodeo® Kicks-Off with $15.3 Million

It was announced on June 29th during the 2025 World’s Oldest Rodeo® Kick-Off Party for the event’s volunteers and membership, that $15.3 million in State appropriations will be redirected to the City of Prescott for critical improvements of the Prescott Rodeo Grounds including underground utilities, ADA compliance, improved seating, and sound.

At the annual kick-off celebration were members, volunteers, staff, and leadership of Prescott Frontier Days alongside local and state lawmakers, who collectively ensured the future of an Arizona treasure. Those public dignitaries included Mark Finchem (R) Arizona State Senate, Quang Nguyen (R)-Arizona House of Representatives-LD1, Selena Bliss (R)-Arizona House of Representatives-LD1, and Supervisor Brooks Compton of Yavapai County.

“This is a great year for the World’s Oldest Rodeo® and for the City of Prescott as we all work together to ensure the future of a treasured event and special place, the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo Grounds. Once again, thank you to Mayor Goode and City Council, as well as Senator Mark Finchem, Representatives Quang Nguyen and Selena Bliss, and Supervisor Brooks Compton. I’d also like to thank Karen Fann, Johnny Kieckhefer, Greg Mengarelli, as well as our entire board: Kymberli Lopez (President), Rex Hinshaw (Vice President), Neal Nabb (Secretary), Brett Mills (Treasurer), Robbie Long (Arena Director), Suzy Davidson (Director), Mike Davidson (Director), Jerry Watson (Director), and Steve Myers (Director). Most importantly, we need to recognize the hundreds of tireless people who make the annual World’s Oldest Rodeo happen – the volunteers, membership, and staff. We couldn’t make it happen without them,” says Jim Dewey Brown, General Manager, World’s Oldest Rodeo. “It’s time to rodeo!”
