Event Highlights for the weekend of September 25, 2026:

On Friday afternoon, the Hansen Memorial Library in Mars Hill is hosting a Leaf Zentangles After School Arts Activity from 3 to 4 PM. It’s free and fun for all ages. Walter T.A. Hansen Memorial Library

Also Friday, the Presque Isle Library is hosting an Apple Party from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, with apple crafts, cider, treats, and free apples from the MSAD 1 Educational Farm. Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library MSAD #1 Educational Farm

The Smyrna-Merrill Historical Society is also kicking off its Halloween-themed dinner theater, “R.I.P.” Shows are Friday and Saturday nights this weekend and next at 6 PM. And Friday night in Houlton, head over to The Downunder Sports Pub to hear Roy and Wyatt from The Dustpans playing an acoustic set from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Downunder Sports Pub

Saturday morning, kids ages 8 to 17 can head to the Presque Isle Airport for a Young Eagles event from 9 AM to 1 PM, where they can take a free airplane ride. Presque Isle International Airport - PQI

The Oxbow Community Center is hosting a Harvest Supper with Bean Hole Beans and Bluegrass from 1 to 4 PM. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal and live music from Borrowed Thyme. Oxbow Community Center

At 2 PM, the Houlton Community Chorus will present its Fall Concert at the Houlton United Methodist Church, running from 2 to 3:30. Houlton United Methodist Church

And in Presque Isle, the Library House is hosting a Toad Abode Crafting Workshop from 2 to 4 PM with Alex Rino. Create a functional fairy house from natural materials for your friendly neighborhood garden toad. This event is free and open to the public. Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library

Saturday evening brings a couple of great community suppers. The Mapleton Lions Club is hosting its annual Fall Drive-Thru Stew Night from 4:30 to 6 PM, with a suggested donation of $12 supporting Mapleton Daze 2027. Mapleton Lions Club

At the same time, the Woodland Historical Society is hosting its Harvest Supper at the Consolidated School, featuring ham, mashed potatoes, carrots, coleslaw, rolls, dessert, and coffee or punch. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 8. Woodland Historical Society-Aroostook

On Sunday, the Aroostook County Bluegrass Jam takes place at the Grand Isle Community Center from noon to 3 PM, featuring Erica Brown and Matt Shipman. Greater Grand Isle Historical Society

Another weekend in Aroostook is here, and that fall weather is really in the air! It’s the middle of September, and here’s a sampling of some of the events happening around The County. For a full listing, visit AroostookCommon.com.

UMFK Homecoming is happening all weekend at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, with soccer games, food trucks, a barbecue, kids’ activities, a dance, and more. Events begin Friday at 3 PM and continue throughout the weekend, with a parade through Fort Kent Saturday at 11 AM. Head to our website for a link to the full schedule. Saturday morning, the Caribou High School Track and Trails will host the fourth annual Aroostook House of Comfort Walk for Hospice from 8 to 11 AM. Lace up your sneakers, honor loved ones, and help raise funds for the Aroostook House of Comfort. Aroostook House of Comfort

In Houlton, the International Airport is hosting a Breakfast Fly-In and Drive-In from 8 to 10:30 AM. Fly in, drive in, or bring a classic car and enjoy breakfast while supporting the event through donations. Then head downtown for the Houlton Community Market Harvest Festival in Market Square from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, featuring fresh produce, live music, crafts, vendors, pumpkin painting, children’s games, loaded baked potatoes, and strawberry shortcakes. Planet Head Day returns to the Francis Malcolm Science Center in Easton Saturday from 10 AM to noon. Support STEAM education while getting your favorite planet painted on your head, enjoying a planetarium show, and helping raise money to upgrade the planetarium. Later that evening, there’s a 7 PM planetarium show, followed by open observatory hours, weather permitting, where you can view the moon, Saturn, Venus, and deep-space objects through the center’s 30-inch telescope. The Maysville Museum in Presque Isle is hosting Heritage Days Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM as part of the city’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday. There will be demonstrations throughout the day, including blacksmithing, quilting, spinning, quill pen making, candle making, and more. Presque Isle Historical Society

Fort Kent is also hosting Recovery Rocks Saturday from noon to 6 PM, featuring live music, guest speakers, inflatables, food trucks, organizational booths, raffles, and more. Recovery Rocks Aroostook County

Saturday evening, the Old Mill School Museum in Mapleton hosts its annual Best Baked Ham Dinner in Aroostook County from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Dine in or use the drive-through, with honey-baked ham, potatoes, baked beans, rolls, dessert, and a drink. Dinners are $15 for adults and $7 for children, with proceeds supporting the museum.

Then Saturday night, the Caribou Performing Arts Center presents The Story Tour from 6:30 to 9 PM. Created to support people struggling with addiction, the event combines inspiring stories of faith with uplifting music from the Alan Scott Band. Caribou Performing Arts Center

And Sunday evening, the Fort Fairfield VFW will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 PM, hosted by the Blue Collar Believers RC. The event will introduce community members to the organization’s founding members, with contributions going toward helping local individuals and families experiencing difficult times. Today we honor all those who lost their lives 25 years ago during the 9/11 attacks on our county. And we also remember all those in NYC, throughout the entire nation, and beyond who came together to support one other during this tragic time. When we gathered together this morning, we were reminded of the strength that can come from community working together in the face of great grief and loss. We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️

Thursday night, Presque Isle is hosting the Model T Club of America during a downtown street fair. Star City Syndicate will perform live from 6 to 8:30 on Main Street between Academy and State. There will be food vendors, classic cars, and a wine tasting at Merchants on the Corner from 5 to 8. Star City Syndicate Merchants on the Corner

Friday morning, the University of Maine at Presque Isle will host a 9/11 Memorial and Remembrance Walk from 8:30 to 10. The ceremony will begin at the flag in front of Preble Hall, followed by a remembrance walk around campus with participation from local police and fire departments. Also at UMPI, a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence will be on display in the Center for Innovative Learning. Viewing hours are Friday from 10 to 7, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 3. Free, ticketed viewing is available, so visit AroostookCommon.com for details.

Easton Field Days kicks off Wednesday and continues throughout the weekend with an open house and ice cream social, food vendors, children’s games, soccer, fireworks Friday night, a parade Saturday at 10 AM, and live music from Star City Syndicate Sunday afternoon. The Aroostook Agency on Aging will host Cruise Down Memory Lane Friday from 4 to 8 PM in downtown Presque Isle. Enjoy classic cars, a special Model T exhibition, live music, baked potatoes, bounce houses, a photo booth, and a moment to remember those lost on 9/11 and honor local first responders.

Mars Hill Homecoming Days also runs Thursday through Saturday, featuring karaoke, an ice cream social, live music from Trainwreck Friday and Star City Syndicate Saturday, a community parade Saturday at 10 AM, movie nights, pet shows, vendors, food trucks, and inflatables. Trainwreck

On Saturday, Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent is hosting an Out of the Darkness Walk from 9 to 11 AM in memory of those lost to su***de and in support of those affected by su***de loss. Northern Maine Medical Center

Fort Fairfield’s Step Into the Past: Block House Rededication event takes place Saturday from 10 to 4. The day includes a rededication ceremony at noon, reenactments, living history talks, 1860s craft demonstrations, food trucks, and more.

Madawaska Fall Fest runs Saturday from 10 to 4 in the town parking lot at the Forever Young Club, with crafters, food vendors, children’s activities, music, and more!

The Realm of Twin Riverswood will hold its seventh annual Renaissance Fair at Albert Michaud Memorial Park in Limestone Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5. Realm of Twin Riverswood Renaissance Faire

The Acadian Village Harvest Festival takes place Saturday from 5 to 8 PM in Van Buren, featuring the Neto Brothers from 6 to 8, food trucks, demonstrations, art displays, and a bonfire.
