We've got the scoop straight from the man in red himself! The official dates when you can meet Santa Claus right here in Pikeville:

Santa's Winterfest Appearance Schedule:

December 7: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

December 13: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

December 19: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

December 20: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

December 23: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Psst... the famously dental-conscious Hermie the Elf is scheduled to be right by Santa's side for photos and fun! (Availability is, of course, subject to any last-minute dental emergencies up at the North Pole 😉).

The Winterfest ice skating rink is located at Pikeville City Park (101 Cumberland Ct). General admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children 6 & under, with skate rentals included. However, pictures with Santa, viewing the lights, or holiday photos around downtown are always free.

Plan your visit now and bring your letters, smiles, and best skating moves! Share this post to spread the holiday cheer and make sure no one misses out on the magic! 🎅⛸️

Special Judge Eddy Coleman has pushed the murder trial of M.K. McKinney back to May 11. Because of the delay, Judge Coleman cut McKinney’s bond from five million dollars to one million dollars in property and four hundred thousand dollars in cash. Coleman said the trial will run Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with Wednesdays set aside for other cases on his docket, and he expects jury selection to take about two days. McKinney’s attorney, Steven Romines, told the court he will need two days for his defense, while Commonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner said the trial will last at least three to possibly four weeks. The next pretrial conference is set for 10am on February 26th.

🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE FROM THE PRESTONSBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚨
As we celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, we are excited to announce that our annual Christmas Light Show at Archer Park will officially begin tomorrow night! This event has become a cherished tradition for our community, and we look forward to seeing everyone come out and enjoy the holiday magic.

🚦TRAFFIC FLOW INFORMATION
To keep everyone safe and moving smoothly, please follow the designated traffic pattern:

All traffic will flow up KY 114 and into West Prestonsburg. Vehicles will circle the block as directed. You will then be permitted to enter Archer Park from the West Prestonsburg Bridge.

If you are traveling through the area during the evenings, please expect delays near Archer Park, West Prestonsburg, and KY 114 due to increased traffic for the light show. You may wish to use alternate routes to avoid congestion and keep your travel time smooth.

Prestonsburg Fire Department personnel and Prestonsburg Police Department officers will be on scene assisting with traffic control and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please be courteous and pay close attention to our direction.

🔥 SAFETY TIPS FOR THE LIGHT SHOW
To help keep your family and others safe:
Please follow all traffic direction from firefighters and officers on site. Keep your speed slow and steady while entering and driving through the park.
Watch for pedestrians and children who may be walking around the park.

👏🏽BE PATIENT, this is a popular event, and traffic may move slowly at times.

We can’t wait to kick off the Christmas season with you. From all of us at the Prestonsburg Fire Department, we wish you a safe, warm, and very happy holiday season. 🎄🚒

Stay safe, and we’ll see you at Archer Park!
