We are perfecting this decadent, creamy pasta and shrimp recipe that is lighter than one would expect. How? We don’t use heavy cream or butter. A plate of this at an Italian restaurant would likely cost you $40. Keep an eye out for this one. We want to create what our viewers desire. Recipes like this interest you?? Let us know below.

Real peace of mind doesn’t come from a label. It comes from cooking it yourself.

You’ve earned the right to know exactly what’s fueling the body that’s carried you this far. Learning to cook isn’t about becoming a chef — it’s taking back control, one real ingredient at a time.

Start with one meal. Read one label. Swap one processed thing for something real. That’s the fight.

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had all year. 🥃🔥

We spent the evening at Sparrow Kitchen & Cocktails in Garden City for an incredible whiskey tasting dinner curated by Chef Mike Wydor, perfectly paired with spirits from Great Jones . Every single course was a masterpiece, but a few dishes completely blew us away.

Here is the full menu play-by-play:

Welcoming cocktail and snack: Zucchini fritters with poblano pepper, lemon zest, goat cheese, and a fresh basil aioli.

Course 1: Local tuna tartare with capers, red onion, Dijon, and crunchy waffle chips.

Course 2: Seared foie gras soaked in bourbon with blistered muscat grapes, pistachios, and a rich bourbon reduction. This dish was outstanding.

Course 3 (The Star of the Show): Farm & Sea—line-caught grilled swordfish topped with a bacon rye jam, paired with locally grown heirloom tomatoes and fresh herbs. The bacon jam and heirloom tomato paired exquisitely with the swordfish.

Course 4: Sweet & salty caramel corn with sweet corn gelato, salted popcorn, and a warm bourbon caramel sauce.

The Verdict: The rye was smooth, the bourbon-soaked foie gras was unbelievable, and that swordfish with the fresh heirloom tomatoes... total perfection.

If you get the chance to catch one of Chef Mike’s pairing dinners, go for it!

If you’re looking for a Japanese restaurant with authentic food and a personal touch, put Takumi Japanese Restaurant on your list.

We’re back at this small, cozy Japanese restaurant run by husband-and-wife duo Yukio Okamura and his lovely wife, Kiyomi. Kiyomi is such a warm and welcoming hostess, and you can truly feel how passionate they both are about Japanese food and culture.

We went on Wednesday for their ramen, and this cold ramen was light, fresh and incredibly flavorful. And that sauce drizzled over the top? Absolutely perfect.

Their sushi is always amazingly fresh, and everything we’ve tried here has been delicious. Highly recommend the scallops topped with wasabi caviar which are from Hokkaido, Japan. They were 🔥. What makes Takumi even more special is Yukio’s dedication to his craft—he continues to return to his hometown in Japan to learn, recreate and bring those dishes back to share with his guests.

It’s the kind of small restaurant you want to see succeed. ❤️.

Takumi Japanese Restaurant

• Wednesday ramen 🍜
• Fresh sushi 🍣
• Authentic Japanese food & culture

If you’re in the area and love Japanese food, save this one and give Takumi a try.
