The Met Opera series returns on Saturday, January 4th beginning at 12:30 pm with Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann.” Tune in at 92.1 + 91.3 FM or listen in on the app (download at link in bio!).

Tony Award–winning director Bartlett Sher creates a fantastical world of magic and delusion, aspiring romance and thwarted love, hope and deceit. Tenor Matthew Polenzani headlines in the title role of the poet Hoffmann. A stellar trio of artists—soprano Erin Morley as Olympia; soprano Olga Kulchynska as Antonia/Stella; and mezzo-soprano Veronica Simeoni as Giulietta—portray Hoffmann’s past loves, with bass-baritone Luca Pisaroni as the four villains. Daniele Rustioni conducts.

The Met Opera series is back on WOMR! Tune in to 92.1 + 91.3 FM at 12:30 and let the librettos fly though 6pm with Strauss's "Die Frau ohne Schatten." The stellar cast is headed by Elza van den Heever, Lise Lindstrom, Nina Stemme, Russell Thomas, Michael Volle, and Ryan Speedo Green in this vast work that’s both a domestic romance and a cosmic epic. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the Met Orchestra and Chorus in one of the 20th century’s richest scores.

What a year we've had at WOMR! We hosted a spring Rockin' Picnic in the Park in Harwich, an early fall Outermost Friday Market on the Orleans Village Green, and we launched the new monthly DJ series Mondaze in partnership with Wellfleet Preservation Hall.

We also purchased and installed a much needed, brand new FM transmitter here in Provincetown, securing our signal's reach to serve listeners from the tip of the Cape to Plymouth County.

As we approach the end of the year on this Giving Tuesday, we're seeking to raise $1000 today toward the cost of purchasing and installing our new hardware:

WOMR joins the chorus of voices celebrating the life of Alice Brock, who passed away last week in Wellfleet, MA. Beloved WOMR DJ Char Priolo welcomed Alice, a longtime supporter of the station, to our studio for several consecutive Novembers in years past to share the story behind the famed Arlo Guthrie song “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree.” As ever, we are grateful to the extraordinary people who have made our community a radiant and inclusive place. Here’s to Alice ❤️.
