Mardie and I have done the Provincetown CabaretFest for a number of years. Under the leadership of Patricia Fitzpatrick, it's one our favorite annual events. Last year Mardie debuted her Sondheim show "SORRY-GRATEFUL" and won a MAC Award when she did it again in the city. This time, the show was more about me and my connection to immigrant music, "FROM THE BORSCHT BELT TO 8TH AVENUE." Will I do it again? I don't know. But to have such a safe and supportive place to try stuff out is a blessing. Given the problems regional theaters and other arts institutions are experiencing, everyone at the festival is aware how fortunate we are to have this seaside incubator of music and creativity. Thanks to Patricia and all who make the joint pop. I can't wait for the next one.
