This is my favorite knot for tying on flies, tippet rings, etc. double Davy knot is strong, fast, low profile, and uses very little tippet. Try it out and it surely will be your favorite too.

This is a super easy but effective cased caddis pattern! Most of the fish I’ve been catching lately have had caddis in their stomach! Try it out!

Hookset the wrong way and you’ll probably miss the fish! I see this issue a lot with beginner fly fishermen. Sometimes and upstream hookset is necessary in a back Eddie, but in general a downstream hookset is what it takes to get that hook to stick! Hope this helps!

Sorry quality is not the best but you get the idea. This Walt’s worm variation has been doing awesome this week. Caught fish in several different rivers including the Provo. Takes 2 materials and is crazy effective tie some up and catch some fish!

This is a fly that almost always stays on my rig. I typically throw 3 flies so having one worm isn’t bad! This is a little more subtle than the traditional San Juan or squirmy worm, but absolutely crushes it!

Here’s some tricks to have a good day on the water!
It all starts with confidence! Get the right fly, fish it in the right water, and catch a fish! Once you get one usually more will follow!

A seine sample is a great way to see what bugs are floating through the river. This is a small sample that had a few midges that matched very well to some midge larva patterns. I probably need to go a bit thinner but overall close match! The caddis are also plentiful in the water right now!

One of the best rigs for flyfishing the Provo! The bounce rig absolutely crushes it!! Try it out! I have the diagram at the end of the video.
