Pain Feels Different When It Comes Home That is the difficult truth about human nature.
Someone else's pain often feels far away because we are not the ones carrying it.
We cannot fully feel their fear, their grief, or their helplessness.
But pain should not have to enter our own home before we learn empathy.

She thinks, "Maybe he really means it this time." So she stays, forgives, and gives him another chance. But when the same hurt keeps returning, something changes inside her. She stops reacting. Stop explaining. Stops asking for the bare minimum.
And that's when he thinks everything is finally okay.
