Please help us congratulate these eight ✨amazing✨ students who all defended their senior capstone projects this week!

Over the last year, their countless hours of hard work resulted in:
🏀 Live basketball broadcasts and the launch of a new sports vodcast.
📡 A major revamp of the Revolution 89.5 radio station which improved everything from studio space to listenership to on-air opportunities for students.
📝 A deep dive, multimedia storytelling project that featured four student athletes like never before.
📰 New weekly journalism and promotion strategies which increased online readership of The Today magazine by 300%!
🎶 The continuation of Rocky Mountain Rhythm, a music showcase designed to amplify local artists while enchancing student production skills.
📲 A complete visual content package created to help promote the media and entertainment department across social channels.
✍🏼 An original comic designed to encourage first generation college students in an accessible and relatable format.

Huge shoutout to the faculty mentors who helped guide these students along the way too. Thanks to their expertise, education in the media and entertainment department at CSU Pueblo isn’t just about earning a degree, it’s about gaining industry-level experience. 💪

Did you know? 🤔💡

Without the partnership of Colorado State University Pueblo and SOCO Student Media our festival would be VERY HARD to make a reality.

These students build stages, run live broadcasts, assist in sound and lighting, and are assigned to different roles all throughout festival weekend.

Hands-on endeavors like SCMS are far beyond book-reading and practice, but building resume worthy experience in a field that desperately wants it.

If you see a student or teacher this weekend, offer a high-five and a thank you for all they do to bring music to the streets of Union Avenue.
