FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH

On April 12, 2024, at approximately 1200 a.m., Officers observed a white sedan traveling westbound in the 600 block of West Northern Avenue at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was observed a short time later by Pueblo Police Detectives in the area, continuing to travel at a high rate of speed westbound in the 1500 block of West Northern Avenue. The vehicle then collided head on with a truck turning north onto the 1200 block of Beulah Avenue from eastbound Northern Avenue. It was learned from the investigation; the white sedan was an unreported stolen vehicle and was being driven without the headlights on. There were three occupants in the white sedan at the time of the crash. Two of the occupants in the sedan were found to be deceased by the responding rescue personnel. The third occupant of the vehicle, and the driver of the truck were transported to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries.

Pueblo Police Department Traffic Investigation units and Crime Scene Investigation Detectives responded to process the scene. This is still an open and active investigation. The names of the deceased will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office at a later date and time.

Tragic Crash Leaves Family and Community in Mourning

Last night, a devastating crash shook the community, leaving behind a trail of sorrow and questions. Witnesses reported that a Silver Car allegedly traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph, collided with another vehicle pickup truck. The impact was catastrophic, resulting in the loss of innocent lives.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the car was recklessly speeding before the collision occurred stolen vehicle…The driver of truck , identified as a man returning home from work, now fights for his life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family during this unimaginably difficult time.

The aftermath of the crash has left families shattered and hearts heavy. As news of the tragedy spreads, the community rallies together in support of those affected. Friends and loved ones take to social media, urging for prayers and support for the grieving families.

“I am so devastated by what happened,” expressed one eyewitness. “It didn’t hit me until later on when I saw all the damage done. No matter what, those kids didn’t deserve to die. And this man, just coming home from work, definitely didn’t.”

As the community grapples with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy, faith and support serve as pillars of strength. Let us join together in prayer for all those affected, remembering that they are now in the arms of Jesus. John 3:16.

Information obtained as of April 12, 2024, 10:00 AM EST, indicates ongoing investigations by local authorities to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the crash and to provide support to the affected families.
