5 things I do before leaving home on every roadtrip:

1) Make bed with fresh sheets, blankets, & pillows after pre-loading washer with less fresh set.

2) Empty kitchen sink of dirty dishes & wash down all surfaces in kitchen.

3) Vacuum, disinfect the air of every room, & turn all air purifiers on high.

4) Turn air conditioner/heater (depending the season) on low & open all doors in house for better flow of air.

5) Leave out a set of bathroom amenities for pet sitter (if necessary) & a set of bathroom amenities for my return.

Whether the trip is 1 day or 1 week, nothing feels quiteas cathartic as welcoming yourself home with an immediate shower & no tasks to complete before you can rest.

Traveling is hard.

Especially when it involves work or family.

These 5 things are both a treat for self care & a necessity for peace of mind.

There is a big difference between social media accounts creating content & social media accounts collecting content.

In my college town Pullman, a great example of this is between the bars I work for & Barstool Wazzu.

Barstool Sports as a corporate entity creates an enormous amount of profitable content, but their college affiliates do not.

The college affiliate accounts repurpose content created by other people in the college community after these people tag or submit their photos & videos to the social media account.

Some affiliate accounts step-up & create some killer content themselves. But most do not.

When these underperforming affiliates do create, it's a pop-culture meme or to sell merch through their corporate leaders.

My teams & collaborators get stressed & depressed over their vanity metrics (follows & views) not matching Barstool affiliate accounts.

I do my best to remind them they are working harder & expending more resources than the affiliate accounts they admire.

Follows & views are much easier to collect when 99% of your content is user generated & designed to go viral.

Content collection is a talent & a skillset not to be diminished or mocked. But it is objectively less taxing on resources & time.

Don't be stressed or depressed.

As a content creator not a content collector, you're in a completely different lane.

You're doing great & doing better.

I have schedule availability for event or food/drink photography this week & next. Weekends included. I also have space in my apartment for any last minute Cougs looking to visit for Cougar Football this September but don't wanna forfeit rent for a hotel.

All 5000+ photos of Kyle & Katie's wedding were corrupt because of a tech failure in the gear I rented. My heart and stomach were in my toes. Google had no answers. A little less than 2 hours later, I problem solved by pulling the jpeg previews out of the metadata. I delivered a gorgeous product. Digital photography is a modern marvel. I love it.

I have one last weekday graduation session available before April 15th. All weekend sessions are booked.

I also have 3 mini-sessions available for the day of graduation. One reservation for each of the 3 graduation ceremonies at WSU on May 5th.

$100 to reserve me for the ceremony and get a small album of you + the family at Beasley Colosseum.
