FEATURE CORVETTE: Rock & Lori Snyder's Corvette With a Cause

What started as a love for Corvettes became a mission to raise awareness for PTSD and support fellow veterans. Rock Snyder, a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class, transformed his 2001 Corvette into a rolling message of hope and awareness for veterans dealing with PTSD and survivor's guilt.

Their stunning yellow C5 isn't just a show car—it's a conversation starter, a fundraiser, and a reminder that no veteran should have to fight their battles alone.

Rock and Lori attend more than 40 car shows each year, raising awareness and collecting donations for veterans' causes. Their dedication earned them Best in Show honors at the 2026 Corvette Chevy Expo in Galveston.

Wayne Ellwood photographed this rare 1974 Motion Phase III L88 Corvette during the Eyes on Design show in Michigan.

According to Wayne’s original report, this was the final Corvette built by legendary Motion Performance founder Joel Rosen before increasing EPA pressure effectively ended the era of extreme street-performance Motion cars.

Although the driveline had been refreshed and the paint updated, the Corvette remained remarkably original — including its unique interior.

Wayne Ellwood captured this stunning all-black 1969 Corvette L71 during the Eyes on Design show in Michigan.

The one-owner Corvette was ordered new with side exhaust and the legendary 427/435 horsepower big-block engine — a combination that still stops Corvette fans in their tracks today.

Wayne Ellwood photographed this incredible Motion-built “Mako Shark” Corvette during the Eyes on Design show in Michigan.

Originally built by legendary Motion Performance founder Joel Rosen, the custom Corvette featured hand-airbrushed shark-scale detailing, turbine-style wheels, and a MOTION LT1 producing around 460 horsepower.

According to Wayne’s original report, artist Gary Kupfner individually airbrushed the scales to follow the body contours and even created a custom 3D shark emblem specifically for the car.

🟢 GREEN FLAG SUNDAY! 🏁

As the engines fire up for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 today, the brand-new 1,250 HP twin-turbo C8 ZR1X will be leading the field to the green flag.

But exactly 28 years ago, this was peak performance. The wild, Radar Blue and neon yellow 1998 C5 Corvette Pace Car absolutely stole the show at the 82nd Indy 500.

Talk about a contrast in eras!
