Smiling because I get to post my first Wildflower & Waterfall Wednesday of 2026, and because I got to hike on a trail I’ve never been on before, and I had the great company of my friend “Trail Mix”
Hard to believe this was only a few days ago on a 70 degree Sunday hike ☀️🥾 after these last few days in the 20’s. 🌬️🥶❄️
Grateful that we enjoyed the Sun when we had it and headed towards the Ohio-Kentucky border to hopefully see some wildflowers. Ohio Hanging Rock Preserve has been on my Ohio bucket list since it opened. After reading the reviews I thought it’d be best to hike it with a friend. Turns out the trail wasn’t as treacherous as advertised, but I’m still glad I waited to hike it. Not only was this a great day for hiking, I got to experience it with my friend and we got to ooh and aah at the beautiful nature together. 😯😲🌸🌿🪨

Finishing up my Waterfall Week on a Friday with a waterfall that is dear to me that I visited on Wednesday. It was the perfect setting for a rainy week of chasing waterfalls on this particularly wet and rainy day.
It was one of those kinda days where ya keep checking the radar and hourly forecast predictions even though they change every few minutes. 🌧️☔️😅🌦️🌧️
Fortunately Honey Run Falls accommodates these types of days because the waterfall is easily accessible being close to the parking lot. There was a break in the rain when I arrived, 🙏 got some pics with the falls and then started to hike. When I reached the river the rain really picked up and I headed back.
On the way home there was another break in the rain so I checked and stopped by Morris Woods and got to have the experience of walking on a floating boardwalk. 😄
Sometimes to enjoy the flow of the falls you have to deal with the fall of the rain. ☯️

On another note let’s talk about the name of these falls. 🤔 I know a Run 🏞️ is another name for a stream in Ohio and Honey 🍯 is sweet, but when you put the two together it takes on a different meaning.
If I were to yell “Honey Run!”
What would you do?

Thanks for joining me on this unofficial week of waterfalls that I so aptly named WATERFALL WEEK 💦🙌💦

It’s and there’s this Amazing tree I wanted to share with you that lives at Cantwell Cliffs. The hike has one of the coolest entrances already as you descend down a stairway between two cliffs. And then to see that somehow this tree decided to grow from it. 🤯
The tree’s roots look like they are part of the rock wall. Somehow it made its way up and found a way to grow its roots and hold on. I always love seeing this Amazing specimen of how resilient trees and nature can be.
It’s just so Amazing! 🤩

Happy TTT!!! 🌳🤗🌲

On this Thursday of Waterfall Week I’m throwing it back to Sunday’s hike and Monday’s post because “side waterfalls” deserve love too. 🫶💙💦
The main attraction type waterfalls are great and all, but there’s something special about the little ones along the way. They build the anticipation and excitement and make the journey more enjoyable.
A lot of these smaller waterfalls are also more seasonal so seeing them flowing isn’t always a guarantee. Making them even more special to see.
Sometimes I even talk to them like the little cuties they are and tell them how beautiful they are and how much I appreciate seeing them. Then they tend to glitter just a little bit more. 💦✨

Wanted to take a moment to celebrate my first ever “graduates” for a class series I taught 💃🕺🏻 and how grateful I was to have such a great first class.
This fine group of people completed the six session Social Ballroom Dancing class at the Dublin Rec Center from me through
In those classes they learned the basics of Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, Swing, and the Hustle.
Teaching dancing has so many special moments like how excited people are when they get the moves right and then have fun dancing to them. They were all so enthusiastic about it too. They even clapped for me and one of the students when we successfully demonstrated a slow underarm turn. 🥹👏😁👏😲👏☺️
An unexpected bonus of being a Ballroom Dancing Instructor is the joy I get from watching older couples having fun together once they are dancing in unison. The two couples on my right (left side of the picture) are perfect examples. They both joined the class to try something together and would leave smiling. ☺️☺️ It would make my heart happy to see it and knowing I helped create that for them.
I’ll be teaching more classes and bringing more fun and smiles to my students. So if you’re interested in learning send me a message. ✨💃🪩🕺🏻✨

Coming at you on this Waterfall Wednesday during my unofficial Waterfall Week with a trio of some of my favorite seasonal waterfalls that are all on the same hike. 💦
Cantwell Cliffs happens to be the closest geographically located part of Hocking Hills State Park to me so it probably gets the most amounts of visits. The trail isn’t long, but it can be challenging. Especially after it has rained. It also helps to know which trail to take to see all three falls if you’re there. This place is perfect for a late afternoon or evening hike after it’s been raining to go see some beautiful cliffs and waterfalls.
My last trip was last week after we had snow on Monday & rain on Tuesday making this a perfect place to visit on a Waterfall Wednesday. 🌊🙌😁💦🩵

Later arrival for the Tuesday edition of Waterfall Week because I’ve had a busy day. Which is a perfect segue to the waterfalls I am sharing today.
Most of the bigger waterfalls are about an hour away or more from where I live. So seeing one on a busy day isn’t always an option. These two waterfalls are twenty minutes away next to downtown Dublin, Ohio. Quite convenient when I don’t have a lot of time and want to scratch that waterfall itch.
While I don’t get the feeling of being out in the wilderness hiking with a school on one side of the gorge and houses and a park field on the other. When sitting by the falls and only hearing that rushing water I forget about all that and get lost in the falls. 😌💦
Sometimes we need those kinds of breaks in an otherwise busy day.

Welcome to Waterfall Week! 🌊🕺🏻✨
We’ve had so much rain lately in Ohio that the waterfalls are flowing and I don’t want to only post the ones I’ve seen on Wednesday.
So this week will be a waterfall every day. ☺️

This little beauty hides on the opposite side of the river from the main trail at Blackhand Gorge. So I usually get to spend some alone time with it and the smaller falls along the Mary Hickey Trail. I’ll show the other falls later this week. 😉
Sitting by a waterfall and listening to the sounds of water splashing over the rocks while feeling the mist gently landing on me is one of my favorite ways to enjoy nature and the calming healing qualities it provides. 🙏😌
See you tomorrow for more waterfalls! 😁

Also, I hope you take time to check out the lunar eclipse aka Blood Moon 🩸🌕 tonight or early morning depending on where you are. It brings a lot of intensity and it’s a great opportunity to “let things go.” 🧘‍♂️

Thank you to all the hosts and for another fun challenge and I hope the winner enjoys their Jade Yoga Mat as much as I enjoy mine.

Yesterday I had a brief moment to myself in an otherwise busy day, so I headed to the closet park and took a walk around Antrim Lake.
The terrain was flat, the trail was crowded and I still had a great time in nature.
I got to see the Sun ☀️ & the Moon 🌖 reflecting off the water, almost got pooped on by an eagle, saw a bald eagle 🦅 and two ducks. 🦆🦆
All in about a half hour of being outside enjoying nature.
Not all walks in nature are as epic as this one, but they all have their moments. So take the time to be outside to experience it. ☺️
