Some video of NAGPRA Director Carrie Wilson returning the frog pipe back home.
In 2019, a stone frog pipe along with other items including a green celt were found in a field in NE Arkansas.
Carrie became actively involved and after an issue arose about ownership.
#NativeAmericanHeritageDay, celebrated on the Friday after Thanksgiving, originated from early efforts by activists like Arthur C. Parker, a Seneca Native American, who advocated for a national day to honor American Indians in the early 1900s; New York became the first state to officially recognize "American Indian Day" in May 1916, marking a significant step towards the current nationwide observance; eventually, in 1990, President George H.W. Bush designated the entire month of November as "National American Indian Heritage Month," and later, in 2009, President Barack Obama officially designated the Friday after Thanksgiving as Native American Heritage Day through legislation.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the creations and practices Native Americans invented that are still used today. Did you know Asprin was inspired by the Native's use of plants to treat pain and inflamation? Hoow about corn and how the Native's were the first to grow the crop. Kayaks and eye protection were also used by the Natives to travel across their land.

Saracen Construction update: October 29, 2024
O-Gah-Pah Communications was elated to work with Saracen Casino Resort to bring you footage of the Saracen Construction process. On Tuesday, October 29, a topping-off ceremony was held for the hotel and we are happy to bring you footage from the event.
We'd like to especially thank everyone who made this happen: from the Saracen team to the construction workers to the Quapaw Tribal members, none of this would be possible without you.
