Black Her-story month. The Lynching of Black women in America: "Black Women Lynched" When we look at the truma that we have faced as Black women we must talk about the brutal treatment that we endured stripped naked and hung (read Ida B. Wells). Although fewer Black women were lynched in the U.S. than men Black women stories have been marginalized. Their voices must be heard. Did u know that Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas had the highest rates of Lynching for Black women. Lynching was a form of domestic terrorism that inflicts harm onto individuals with purpose of instilling fear. Pregnant women young girls there were no one was off limits when it came to the Lynching of Black. Billie Holiday's song "Strange Fruits" speaks about the pain, terror and trauma we felted. " Blood on the leaves Blood at the roots. Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze; strange fruits

as we continue celebrating "Our" History.. During 2021-2022 school years more than 1600 books were banned from school libraries/ classrooms. The banned affected 138 schools districts in 32 states. And guess what Florida and Texas are leading the nation in banning the most Black studies Books and information. 🚫 prohibiting teaching of the Critical Race Theory (CRT). They say if you want to hide something from us folks; put it in a book. Well could it be that we are reading more now than 60 years ago. If you forget our history you or our children will repeat its flaws Remeber this ..between 1740- 1834 anti-literacy laws were passed prohibited teaching slave's to read or write. Don't go back. I suggest you Google the ban book list and get these books as soon as possible! Books banned: 1.The 1619 Project by Nikole Jones 2. Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison 3.Native son by Richard Wright 4. Their eyes 👀 were watching God by Zora Hurston 5. The Hate u give by Angie Thomas. The list goes on...we must not remain silent for our children sake! Stay woke and write your Senators.
