Small batch, big Filipino flavors 🇵🇭

A small batch bakery means you get what you get for the day and that’s that. So get there as soon as you can before it all sells out, especially on the weekend. Trust me… she sells out because these treats do Filipino flavors such justice.

Some of you may know about .and.aurora because they were a vendor at Ubeland and sold ube pop tarts, ube donuts, and more! But what you may not know is that Cherry has been in this food game for a minute and can make goodies that make you feel like you’re at home (if you’re Filipino) or wonder how you’ve never had these flavors before (if you’re not Filipino).

Everything I grabbed:
Calamansi matcha
Adobo honey latte
Turon hojicha
Blueberry poptart
Chocolate and ube croissant (filled with ube halaya btw)
Pandesal bread pudding
Cardamom bicho bicho (that’s a yeast dough donut that is made back home)
Calamansi filled donut (perfect combo of sweet and sour!!!)

Shoutout to for putting me on and getting me through the door!

Photos from my digital camera from my last trip to the Philippines always make me happy 🇵🇭✨

Teenage me was very shook when she learned how to live like a true girly from Leyte… pumping water from a well, taking a pedicab, walking to the village square and markets, seeing my Lolo’s sari-sari, getting fresh pandesal from the streets, experiencing my food being wrapped in palm or coconut leaves, watching my cousins get coconuts from trees, being recognized around the barangay because of my very Baqueros-looking face. I still remember all the smells. I miss it dearly.

I gotta go home soon. 😭

I just love supporting a home baker 🇵🇭💜

is based out of the Bronx. But she does deliveries that meet her minimum of $30+. There may be a delivery fee based on the distance she has to travel. She also ships!! These sampler boxes were $15 each. They include an ube halaya swirl bar, ube pudding cookie, ube jam pandesal, classic pandesal, and Nido milk glazed chocolate chip cookie. All delicious sweet treats! It’s the use of REAL ube for me. 😉

Follow to see what she is up to and find the link in her bio to order on her website.

UBE treats made by home bakers in the 757 🇵🇭💜

ubemisu is an absolute must for tiramisu lovers, the ube cake pop is my ube princess’ fave treat, and I didn’t add it to this post but their dream cake is a must too (fuses chocolate and ube together)!

ube & yema snickerdoodle cookie hits the spot!! And the ube biko pie is a tita favorite. I’m with them on that because I love myself some biko too.

makes their own version of a crookie by using their ube krack cookie… making it an ube krack crookie. A true sweet treat!!! But that SUPER “P” PANDESAL definitely had me shooooook. So fluffy.

Order from any of these lovely lutong bahays soon. 🤗

The Ube kings at 🇵🇭✨

This is a new food truck in the 757 that I’m obsessed with. I need to visit again to show ya’ll what else they have. But for now, this little preview will do. In love with that jerk ube jam burger and Calamansi wings… ya’ll know I love a Jamaican and Filipino fusion. 🇵🇭🇯🇲

They made tambo tambong (similar to bilo-bilo or binignit) and ube banana pudding specifically for Something in the Ube. But I think one of them needs to stay on their daily menu. Ima fan!!!

Mad respect to the homies because they use that real ube too. Duh, Filipinos only know how to use that real real.

Follow to know their schedule and where they are posted up at.

Filipino classics in sandwich form 🇵🇭✨

Chef Eric from Naks (.nyc) is back at it again with making Filipino food accessible to those that have never had it before. And he’s not doing it by watering it down but by switching it up to something familiar to all, to get newcomers interested in what our culture has to offer. I’m not mad at it. It’s pretty genius.

Shout out to Chef Eric for bringing the Filipino flavors to the east village through Naks and now Sanwits.
