Rage...

It's time we break up

Oh.... it's not that you're wrong

Yes, they hurt me
Yes, if given the chance
they would hurt me again

But this isn't about them....
This is about you, and me...
And I am TELLING YOU to set me free

I won't waste my life on being angry
&
I can't carry you with me anymore
You're too heavy

I have realized
I won't make it to the places I need to go
if I continue to let you weigh me down

So Rage, we're done

Their offenses
Will not determine my feelings

I will dance through life
With peace,
With love,
With joy,
With abundance...
That leaves no room for you

I know Rage...

You have served me the best you could
You did what you could to protect me
For that, I say thank you

& Don't worry....

I know where to find you now
If survival ever dictates a need for you...
Or the monster I become when I feed you.

I am stronger now
Now that I know how to deal with the nightmares that would impose themselves on my dreams

You taught me that
That I don't have to lie there and take it
That I am a FIGHTER

It's just
You fought so that I could live my life...
Not so I could spend it fighting

So it's time to say goodbye,
My dear Rage.

Let me live, and LOVE,
To fight another day.

What is "Putting on a Happy Face " costing you?

We've all done it. Put on a smile and push through because today we have things to do. Things to accomplish. Dreams to chase. 🤍✨

It's not an inherently bad thing to do. I have been proud to be called a hustler in many situations in life. I may be down for a couple hours or a day, but prided myself in pulling myself "up by my bootstraps" quickly in every instance.

Until now.

This time around, I needed TIME. ⏳
I needed to unplug. 🔌
I had to just STOP 🛑 Rest. Reset. Cry. Scream. Feel.
Pray and process all of my life that has taken place up until now. ... And I'm not done with it.

Yesterday, I wondered for a moment what all the onlookers must think about the sudden change in pace.... And tone... On this page and the others I run for myself. I knew that it didn't matter because this is what I need for now.

And then I wondered, what does putting on that "happy face" I usually wear actually cost me? Is there such a thing as "toxic positivity"?

I grew up avoiding negative feelings and having a lot of shame for ever even having them.... One of the many realizations that led to my current existential crisis.

I did a little research and it turns out that people who don't judge their feelings as good or bad are more mentally healthy than those who tend to judge feelings like anger or sadness as negative, and attempt to avoid them.

I have been feeling down this holiday season. I miss my dad who passed years ago.... And I am in a season of mourning what I thought my life would be. I am becoming more accepting of what my life is.

If you feel down this holiday too, I am here to say feel it to release it. There is no shame in being human. This life ain't easy... But there's no rainbows without the rain.

Why in the world did I take a picture of this gas pump??

The reason is simple. I paid for $20 in fuel and the pump stopped at $20 in fuel. I am so grateful for small acts of integrity like this. THIS should be the NORM!!

But have you noticed?? MOST of the time when you prepay, they set the pump for the correct amount, you wait for your fuel to finish pumping, it clicks off....and at this point....they've gotten a lot of you. The ones in a hurry who hang up and go....slow down and check .... That pump likely has anywhere from 50c to a dollar left to pump for the amount you actually paid for. I have noticed this EVERYWHERE except at the Murphy USA pumps at Walmart.

So.... Thank you Murphy USA.... We shouldn't have to double check that the pump is actually done pumping the full amount we paid for.... And with you we don't have to.

But I also believe in times of rest.... In going back to the basics... In finding JOY.... In service to others and the way it helps you GROW. 🌱

Sometimes it isn't about WHAT you are doing as much as it's about HOW you are doing it. So do it with ❤️ and PURPOSE. And when you can, do it with a genuine smile on your face. 🥰

But that doesn't mean it is EASY ✨

To love well simply requires that you meet the needs of the moment 🤌

Sometimes that means doing the dishes or taking out the trash.

Sometimes it means listening to that story you have heard a thousand times with a smile on your face.

Just in case no one told you today, you deserve to love well and to be loved well in return. 🤍🌄✨

Pregnancy used to be a BEAUTIFUL thing. 🤰🏼

Telling your family you were expecting used to be the best news they've heard. 🤱🏼

But nowadays, everyone makes it seem so negative. 🙅🏼‍♀️

“Oh my Gosh, she's pregnant again" or " How can you afford another child “ etc. 🙄

To everyone who is Pregnant, If no one told you today or at all, CONGRATULATIONS! You got this and your little Family is Beautiful.

It doesn’t matter if it’s your first, third, or sixth child! Your Baby is a blessing and they deserve to be celebrated!!
