QPD Makes Arrest

QPD arrested Jazarrion Laquez Sanders and has charged him with the following:

-Sexual Battery(Prohibited Sexual Pe*******on)
-Burglary-Home Invasion

Around 1:00 a.m., Mr. Sanders entered an apartment through a window without the lease holder’s consent and sexually assaulted the tenant. The tenant was home alone with her children while the incident took place. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was evaluated for her injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody this afternoon at a local business without incident by Quitman Police Department.

Greenwood Leflore Hospital has pushed back its potential closure date from June 15 to July 31.

Hospital officials met with staff today and issued a new updated Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act letter notifying them of the improved financial situation.
