Erin is still a category 2 as of 4pm CDT with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph. Erin is expected to make minor to moderate impacts along the coast of North Carolina with some evacuated. After Erin continues its journey back across the northern Atlantic, another storm has the possibility of forming. As of 4pm CDT, the NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center has this disturbance (which is located several hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands) at a 60% chance for development. However, this storm is not expected to impact the US coast. This however may impact the northern Leeward Islands by Friday before developing into what could be Fernand. Another thing is that this system could impact Bermuda Island.
