NO BAIL BUDDY

On Thursday, 18-year-old Bradley Scott Sayer of Chico, the man arrested for the deadly shooting at the Chico Library on Monday afternoon that left two people dead and others injured, appeared in Butte County Superior Court.

Action News Now was inside the courtroom as Sayer made his first court appearance on the following charges:

Two counts of murder (felony)
Two special enhancements for "discharge of fi***rm with injury - additional 25 years to life"
Two special enhancements for "with special circumstance of multiple murders"

Sayer did not enter a plea in court on Thursday, and he will return to Butte County Superior Court on July 16, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. for further arraignment and entry of plea to the charges against him.

The court received the People's request to set bail for Sayer at no bail, and after review, the court granted the request.

Sayer will remain in the custody of the Butte County Jail with no bail.
