Your Hometown Newspaper

The Mountain Valley News (MVN) came into existence when Rainsville natives, Nathaniel and Teresa Ledbetter, bought out the DeKalb Advertiser to bring a newspaper back to the city of Rainsville. An eight-person staff printed the inaugural edition of MVN on November 1, 2011. In May of 2013, we moved to our current location at 450 Main Street West in Rainsville. We now have a six-person staff, have added magazines, television, and radio shows, and most recently a second newspaper called North Jackson Press, and now are under the ownership of Arlan β€œMonk” and Sherri Blevins.
