(June 11, 2026): Paramount Young Women Initiative, in collaboration with the B**g County Women Organization, has concluded a one-day County-Level Dialogue on the National Policy on Girls’ Education under its Educate Her Project.
The project, which seeks to promote gender equity and quality education, is a five-year initiative funded by the Global Partnership for Education through the Education Out Loud program, with a specific focus on advancing the National Policy on Girls’ Education in Liberia.
The initiative aims to support the effective implementation of the policy by raising awareness and encouraging stakeholder engagement in the promotion of girls’ education across the country.
During the dialogue, panelists discussed strategies for creating inclusive learning spaces, strengthening accountability and collaboration, and advancing future-focused actions to ensure safe and supportive learning environments for all students.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Alice Garmo of the B**g County Women Organization highlighted the positive impact the project has had on girls’ enrollment in schools across B**g County since its introduction.
According to Mrs. Garmo, unlike in the past when girls often received less educational support than their male counterparts, there is now a growing commitment to providing equal opportunities for both boys and girls.
She also praised the B**g County Council for ensuring that 50 percent of the beneficiaries of the Madam Suakoko Scholarship Program were girls, describing the move as a significant step toward expanding educational opportunities for young women in the county.
The dialogue was held on Thursday at the B**g County Women Center and brought together students, women leaders, education stakeholders, and local authorities from across B**g County.
