📍Buxton, NC - 47918 North Carolina Hwy 12
Fun Fact: The charming cottage was originally a kitchen house built in the 1860s in Hatteras Village. Sometime in the 1960s, the entire building was floated up the Pamlico Sound and hauled to its current location in Buxton, where it was later purchased and opened as the bookstore in 1984. Inside, you can still see original ceiling beams that were constructed from timbers of a shipwreck, a common practice for building on the Outer Banks at the time.
