Tag your favorite book lover and save for your next trip to the OBX.

If you’re ever in Buxton, NC you have to stop by . It’s the coziest, most charming little independent bookstore right off the main road.

Wandering through the shelves here is the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon or take a break from the sun. You could spend hours getting lost in the stacks and discovering new reads. It’s a true treasure and a must-visit for any book lover!

Go check them out and find your next favorite book to bring to the beach!

📍Buxton, NC - 47918 North Carolina Hwy 12

Fun Fact: The charming cottage was originally a kitchen house built in the 1860s in Hatteras Village. Sometime in the 1960s, the entire building was floated up the Pamlico Sound and hauled to its current location in Buxton, where it was later purchased and opened as the bookstore in 1984. Inside, you can still see original ceiling beams that were constructed from timbers of a shipwreck, a common practice for building on the Outer Banks at the time.

🔔Black Owned Business🔔

’m so excited to share this incredible find with you all: , a Black-owned family run farm in Louisburg, NC, that is preserving culture and history through food.

Owner Falani is carrying on a powerful legacy on her grandparents’ land by growing crops from heirloom seeds sourced from Africa, South America, and even the Gullah Geechee islands. This isn’t just a farm—it’s a living, breathing connection to heritage.

The produce here is unlike anything you’ve seen. We’re talking fiery Brazilian peppers, classic African field peas, and beautiful red, white hibiscus from Gambia and over 12 varieties of watermelon. I was even able to eat a fresh heirloom okra right off the vine!

Beyond the fresh bounty, you have to try Fulani’s artisan hot sauces . The unique flavors, like mango, peach, passion fruit, and blackberry, are absolutely delicious.

You can get your own taste of this amazing farm by checking out her upcoming harvest and craft workshops. Head to her bio to see where she pops up with her produce, purchase her hot sauce, and learn how to make your own hot sauce, tea blends, and more!

Fun Fact: The Gullah Geechee people are descendants of West Africans who were enslaved and brought to the low country regions of South Carolina and Georgia. They were able to preserve a significant amount of their African linguistic and cultural heritage, including farming practices and seed varieties, due to their geographic isolation.

There is NO gatekeeping here!

With that said, if you love a sweet treat and want something to help you cool off in this heat, try the Cinnamon Churro cookie ice cream sandwich and thank me later!

It’s like a churro, ice cream sandwich and Cinnamon Toast Crunch had a love child. So good!

Sharing is caring…Share your favorite sweet treat to beat the heat?
